Name : Pablo
Age : 8
Country : Spain
Question : I noticed that the colors of my model look different in a photograph. Why is that?
Answered by : Allen Demers, LEGO Model Designer

When lighting your model to take a photo, remember that some types of light can cast a color. Fluorescent lights will give your photo a bluish hue while incandescent or standard light bulbs will often lend an orange glow. Whenever possible, it is best to photograph your models in soft natural light such as sunlight, or using full-spectrum light bulbs which do not affect an object's color.

Question : I am having trouble keeping my camera steady while taking a picture of my model. Help!
Answered by : Allen Demers, LEGO Model Designer

Professional photographers often use tripods to hold their cameras very still while taking a photograph. A tripod looks like the frame of a teepee. You connect your camera to a flat piece at the top point of the tripod. In addition to keeping your camera steady, using a tripod will give you a consistent angle when you are taking multiple photographs. Try to build a tripod with your spare LEGO elements!
