Billund, Denmark, 6 September 2023: Six creative kids from around the world have been appointed as the LEGO Group’s first ever class of Chief Dream Creators, after their amazing dream creatures were selected from thousands of entries from kids globally to help inspire the future of the LEGO® DREAMZzz™ theme.

The LEGO® DREAMZzz™ theme is the toy company’s all-new franchise that brings to life the creativity of children’s dreams through an epic new content series and product range. The winning Chief Dream Creators travelled to Billund, Denmark, from Singapore, Hungary, USA, Poland and the UK to take part in an amazing workshop in which they inspired LEGO Designers and shared more about their own imaginative dream creatures.

As part of the workshop, the young Chief Dream Creators saw their own creations brought to life professionally by LEGO® DREAMZzz™ animators and designers to imagine what they could look like in the dream world of the LEGO® DREAMZzz™ theme.

The six Chief Dream Creator winners and their dream creations were:

  • Marisol, 12 years old, USA – The Dreamer Dragon, a majestic purple dragon made out of clouds and carrying on his back a home and the Book of Imagination, to inspire the LEGO characters, and to guide them on their quests
  • Stanisław, 6 years old, Poland – The Flying Frog, an amazing green frog that can leap into the sky and fly around in adventures
  • Matthew, 11 years old, Singapore – Giraffe Mail, a giraffe who delivers mail to the dreamers using rocket boosters that shoot leaves instead of fire
  • Samuel, 11 years old, UK – Seahorse Submarine, a seahorse and working submarine combined that can help the dreamers adventure underwater, complete with a compartment in its chest and diving equipment
  • Julia, 12 years old, UK – The Dreamstone Guardian, a white cat-like creature, who lives on land and in water, is able to glide and shrink, all to help it protect its precious dreamstones
  • Gergő, 12 years old, Hungary – The Vara-Wasp, a combination of a wasp and varanus (monitor lizard) who uses his tongue to smell and lives away from the cities, protecting itself with its sting

“The LEGO® DREAMZzz™ theme is all about dreams becoming real and imagination being a super-power,” said Marcia Marks Laursen, Head of Product for LEGO® DREAMZzz™. “To host our Chief Dream Creators at the LEGO Headquarters to learn more about how they harnessed their own creative abilities to design these creatures was an unforgettable experience and left us feeling very inspired.”

As a Chief Dream Creator, the children’s role in the workshops was to champion the creativity of dreams within the company and spread the positive creative aspects dreaming can have for young people around the world.

Their dream creatures have been made into artworked versions by creatives at the LEGO Group and will appear in short animations to be released in 2024.

The appointment of the Chief Dream Creators follows on from the launch of the first episodes of the LEGO® DREAMZzz™ series in May, which proved to be the biggest international series launch in the history of the LEGO Group, with the content broadcast around the world in 38 languages.

The LEGO® DREAMZzz™ series follows the adventures of school friends, Mateo, Izzie, Cooper, Logan and Zoey, as they join a secret agency and learn to use the power of imagination to journey into the dream world – and learn to defeat the tyrannical Nightmare King!

Season One of the LEGO® DREAMZzz™ series is available to stream now via YouTube and other platforms, whilst new LEGO® DREAMZzz™ sets are available now on LEGO.com and from authorised retailers.
