Thor, God of Thunder, from LEGO® Marvel

Thor

Thor’s Marvel Comics’ debut came in 1962’s Journey into Mystery. As a founding member of the Marvel Avengers, he appeared in numerous Avengers stories, until, in 1966, he was given his own, self-titled, comic-book series, The Mighty Thor.
Thor’s numerous appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with 2011’s, Thor. The next year, the character appeared in The Avengers. This was followed by Thor: The Dark World in 2013, Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, Avengers: Infinity War in 2018 and, most recently at the time of writing, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
In his movies, Thor has mostly brandished 2 weapons: his enchanted hammer Mjolnir and the self-forged Stormbreaker. These weapons feature heavily among the wide variety of kids’ superhero toys, action figures and LEGO® gift sets that have further expanded the God of Thunder’s presence here on Earth.

Thor Odinson, God of Thunder and hammer-wielding superhero.

Son of the king and queen of Asgard, Thor grew up to become a powerful protector of his country and his people. His malicious adoptive brother Loki, however, was envious and plotted to ensure Thor would never ascend to the throne. Loki’s scheming eventually resulted in Thor being banished to Earth. Although Thor managed to reclaim his rightful position in Asgard, his thoughts were filled with the people he had met and the adventures he had experienced on Earth.

As well as possessing great strength and stamina, Thor’s greatest power is his ability to control the forces of nature. When he resolves to use all his power to confront Loki while he is on Earth, Thor encounters the Avengers team of superheroes. Soon, he is invited to work alongside the Avengers in a joint mission to bring Loki to justice.
