Thanos, the LEGO® Marvel super villain from Titan.

Thanos

Thanos first appeared in the 1973 Marvel comic, The Invincible Iron Man. He returned in extended storylines that spanned numerous issues of different titles. It wasn’t until 2004, however, that the character first appeared in a self-title publication.
In cinemas, Thanos made a tantalizing first appearance as Loki's enigmatic benefactor during the end credits of 2012’s The Avengers. In 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos began his legendary crusade to gather together all 6 of the Infinity Stones, with the ultimate aim of destroying half of all life from the universe.

Thanos is one of the most ubiquitous super villains. In print and on screen, he has fought many of the Marvel Universe’s stable of heroes, including the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers. As a result, he is a popular action figure among a range of superhero toys, including LEGO® gift sets, which include many Thanos-based adventures.

Thanos, the fierce Titan on a crusade to collect the Infinity Stones.

Thanos was born on Saturn's moon Titan. He carries the so-called Deviants gene, which gives him his distinctive physical appearance. Using his exceptional scientific skills, Thanos enhanced his own physical strength and abilities.

As he grew, Thanos changed from a peace-loving boy to a death-obsessed adult. This obsession led to him launching a nuclear attack on Titan, which killed millions. This event convinced him of the perverse idea that he must destroy half the life in the entire universe in order to save it. To accomplish this aim, he sets out on a quest to gather the 6 Infinity Stones. As he collects each one, he places it in the Infinity Gauntlet he wears on his left hand. He succeeds in gathering all 6 Infinity Stones – and proceeds with his apocalyptic ambition.
