The Most Beloved Star Wars™ Characters 

From brave Jedi warriors and charismatic heroes to sinister Sith Lords, and everything in-between, it is the characters that make the Star Wars™ galaxy what it is!  

Every Star Wars fan has characters that they love. Maybe you’re firmly behind the Rebel Alliance. Or maybe you have a sneaking admiration for the dark side. Or, perhaps, you might prefer the more morally complex lone wolves of the galaxy. 

Here’s our list of our most beloved Star Wars characters, along with some of our favorite LEGO® sets in which they appear. Each brings their own unique personality to the galaxy – but which is your favorite?

Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker

Darth Vader might just be the most iconic Star Wars™ character of them all. In fact, he’s one of the most iconic characters ever! The Sith Lord is instantly recognizable thanks to his famous black cloak and helmet, and menacing, deep voice. From his beginnings as a talented podracer, to his turn as a brave and powerful Jedi Knight, and then his eventual turn to the dark side, Anakin Skywalker is a character whose actions are central to the Star Wars Saga. 

The Darth Vader Bust (75439) is a display piece that Anakin Skywalker fans will love. This set captures that iconic black armor and helmet in stunning detail. The Darth Vader Bust will look great as part of any Star Wars collector’s display, sure to make friends feel envious.  

Vader fans will also love the Death Star (75419). This detailed cross-section of the Empire’s moon-sized weapon contains several classic scenes featuring our favorite Sith Lord. These include the Throne Room Lightsaber™ duel with Luke, the conference room, and Darth Vader’s Meditation Chamber.  

With over 9,000 pieces and 36 minifigures, this unique LEGO Star Wars set is an amazing centerpiece for any collection.

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker is one of the most central characters in the Star Wars™ galaxy. In the Original Trilogy, we see him going from a moisture farmer to an aspiring Jedi and Rebel Alliance pilot to a Jedi Master, later becoming a mentor and teacher. 

Fans love Luke for his bravery and leadership, not to mention his expert starfighter flying skills. He’s very much the opposite of his arch enemy (and father) Darth Vader, and one of the biggest heroes in the world of Star Wars.

Fans of Luke Skywalker will love the collectible LEGO Star Wars: BrickHeadz™ Luke Skywalker™ (Rebel Pilot) (40795) figure. This cute, brick-built figure will look great on a desk or shelf. The epic Death Star (75419) also features several of Luke’s most iconic scenes, including the Throne Room duel with Darth Vader and his swing across the chasm with his sister Leia. Three Luke minifigures come with this set in total: his classic white outfit, disguised as a stormtrooper, and with his black outfit from Return of the Jedi™. 

For iconic moments with a new twist, we have the LEGO Star Wars: SMART Play™: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing™ (75423). This already awesome X-wing set features a SMART brick, which reacts depending on how you play with it. The SMART Play™: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing™ (75427) offers a new, interactive twist on the aforementioned Lightsaber™ duel.

Princess Leia

Princess Leia Organa is another central figure in the Star Wars™ galaxy, leading the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. We love her loyalty, leadership, determination, and wit – and her iconic side bun hairstyle. 

Leia appears in a variety of LEGO® sets as a minifigure. She features in the epic LEGO Star Wars: Death Star (75419) mentioned above, in classic scenes such as the chasm jump with Luke, the trash compactor, and the prison cell in which she is held as she waits to see if Obi-Wan Kenobi will receive her message… 

A Huttslayer Leia appears in the LEGO Star Wars: Jabba’s Sail Barge™ (75397), a 3943-piece Ultimate Collector Series centerpiece. A Leia minifigure also features with the UCS Millenium Falcon™ (75192).

Another Princess Leia minifigure is included with the LEGO Star Wars: SMART Play™: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing™ (75423), part of our new range of interactive sets.  

Han Solo

Whatever your view of Han Solo – scruffy looking nerf herder or loyal friend and swashbuckling soldier in the fight against the Empire – he’s one of the Star Wars™ galaxy’s most popular characters. His sly humor, charm and cool anti-hero vibe make Han easy to love and one of the biggest Star Wars icons around. 

Han appears in a number of different LEGO® sets, often alongside his iconic ship, The Millenium Falcon and his best friend, Chewbacca. 

One such set is the Ultimate Collector Series Millenium Falcon™ (75192), an epic display piece for builders aged 16+. Like the other heroes of the Rebellion, he also features in the LEGO Star Wars: Death Star (75419): in both his classic outfit and disguised as a stormtrooper.   

For younger Han Solo fans, we have the LEGO Star Wars: SMART Play™: Millennium Falcon™ (75426), focused on imaginative play. The set recreates the famous starship in a smaller format, perfect to hold in your hand. But there’s more: this SMART Play Compatible set (SMART Brick sold separately, as part of SMART Play All-In-One sets), features SMART tags and minifigures that interact with the SMART Brick. When you play with this set, the galaxy plays back!

Chewbacca

With his powerful frame, thunderous roar and reputation as a ferocious warrior, Chewbacca is an intimidating presence. To his allies, though, he is a soft-hearted, loyal friend – not to mention one of the best pilots in the Star Wars™ galaxy, and an expert mechanic. In the Original Trilogy, we see Chewie go from smuggler to one of the key figures in the fight against the Empire.  

Chewbacca minifigures are featured in both the Ultimate Collector Series Millenium Falcon™ and the LEGO® SMART Play™ Compatible version.  

Chewie is another one of 36 LEGO® Star Wars minifigures featured in the epic, 9,000-piece LEGO® Star Wars™: Death Star™ (75419) set – the highest number of minifigures that have ever been included in one set.

Droids

Droids are employed in all areas of life, from maintenance and farming to starship navigation and military engagement. The Star Wars™ galaxy is home to countless droids of all shapes and sizes, but there are two in particular that stand out to Star Wars fans: unforgettable best friends C-3PO™ and R2-D2™! 

The LEGO® Star Wars: R2-D2 (75379) set is a stylish 1,050-piece display set that aficionados will love. This highly detailed and superbly rendered model comes with an information plaque listing everything you need to know about R2-D2! You could display it next to the LEGO Star Wars: C-3PO (75398) piece – the multilingual droid, famed for his impeccable manners and nervous disposition, also comes with an information plaque as well as an additional C-3PO LEGO Star Wars minifigure. 

They both are also regularly featured in minifigure scale. C-3PO in the LEGO® SMART Play™ Compatible Millenium Falcon™ (75426) and Jabba’s Sail Barge™ (75397); R2-D2 also features in the latter, and in the interactive LEGO SMART Play™: Luke's Red Five X-Wing™ (75423) - where you can also hear his distinctive beeps.  

As well as these two Original Trilogy staples, other fan favorite droids recreated in LEGO bricks include BB-8™ (75452), Chopper (C1-10P)™ (75416), and K-2SO™ Security Droid (75434).  

Grogu and The Mandalorian

Grogu, affectionately known by fans as "Baby Yoda", is a tiny, adorable alien with big ears, even bigger eyes and some seriously impressive Force abilities. Despite his cuteness, he’s a powerful little creature who’s been through a lot and has formed a special bond with his protector. Din Djarin, also referred to as the Mandalorian, is a tough, no-nonsense bounty hunter who follows a strict code and wears distinctive Mandalorian armor. His mission? To capture Grogu. But once they meet, he can’t help but become a father figure to the little guy. 

Now you can bring home a buildable version of the lovable Grogu with the Grogu™ (Mandalorian Apprentice) (75446) set! This brick-built model captures every adorable detail of the galaxy’s most beloved little Force-user, with beskar armor and satchel, as he appears in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu™. Fans of The Mandalorian™ will also love The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter™ (75442). This Ultimate Collector Series set captures this iconic ship in stunning detail. It comes with minifigures of the Mandalorian and Grogu. The Razor Crest (75447) also comes with minifigures of these two beloved Star Wars™ characters.

Jango and Boba Fett

Considered among the best bounty hunters in the galaxy, Jango and Boba Fett are hugely popular among fans. The iconic father and son faced off against Jedi warriors and Rebel Alliance heroes, on the command of villains such as Count Dooku, the Galactic Empire, and Jabba the Hutt, who ordered the capture of Han Solo.  

The LEGO® Star Wars™: Jango Fett’s Starship (75433) set features both Jango and Young Boba, along with Jango’s imposing Firespray-class starship. This 9+ set features an opening cockpit, stud shooters and a seismic charge-dropping function. 

For a more display-focused version of the same ship, check out the Ultimate Collector Series Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship (75409). This set also comes with Jango and young Boba Fett minifigures.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a legendary Jedi Master, mentor to both Luke and Anakin Skywalker – with the latter eventually becoming an enemy after falling to the dark side. 

Fans of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones™ will love the LEGO® Star Wars™: Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter™ (75333) set, which lets you recreate classic movie moments or invent your own exciting scenarios! The ship features a retractable landing gear, Lightsaber™ storage clips and a LEGO Star Wars minifigure of young Obi-Wan himself. A young Obi-Wan Kenobi minifigure also features in the Clone Wars™ inspired V-19 Torrent Starfighter (75432).

The LEGO Star Wars: SMART Play™: Mos Eisley Cantina (75425) includes an older Obi-Wan LEGO Star Wars minifigure. This SMART Minifigure is designed for interactive play when paired with SMART Brick (sold separately), making this already super fun set even more exciting!

Jabba the Hutt

Notorious cartel boss Jabba the Hutt is immediately recognizable due to his slug-like appearance, evil laugh, and sidekick Salacious B. Crumb. His phenomenal wealth and sprawling criminal empire make him a powerful foe, and his agents are dispatched across the galaxy to enforce his underworld schemes.  

Modelled on the ship first seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™, the LEGO® Star Wars™: Jabba’s Sail Barge™ is a true collector’s item and an amazing display piece. It features a large Jabba the Hutt figure, along with 11 collectible LEGO Star Wars minifigures and the giant barge itself, which is packed with cool features inside. Open up the barge to find a cockpit, a cell, an armory and an entertainment room!

Yoda

No list of the most beloved Star Wars™ characters would be complete without Master Yoda. Yoda is loved by fans for his wisdom, quirky personality and unique way of speaking. As a Jedi Grandmaster, he had expert command of the Force, training many generations of Jedi in the techniques and discipline required of a warrior. 

The LEGO® Star Wars™: Yoda Bust (75438) is a perfect gift for any Star Wars fan who loves this legendary character, capturing his personality in an amazing display piece. Yoda fans will also love the LEGO Star Wars: SMART Play™: Yoda’s Hut and Jedi Training (75422). Cassian Andor

The lead character in Andor: A Star Wars Story™, Rebel Alliance officer and master spy Cassian Andor is famed for his bravery and loyalty, always willing to put himself at risk in the fight against the Empire. Cassian features in the LEGO® Star Wars: Rebel U-Wing Starfighter (75399) set alongside security droid K-2SO.  

The set is based on Cassian’s adventures in season 2 of the hit series, with a detailed reproduction of the U-wing Starfighter design. The model includes a swing-wing function for switching between landing mode and flight mode, plus two spring-loaded shooters that make creative roleplay even more immersive. It comes with four minifigures, including Cassian Andor himself.

Ahsoka Tano

Noble warrior Ahsoka Tano undertook her Jedi training with Anakin Skywalker, before he turned to the dark side. Her leadership, intelligence, agility and ability to wield dual Lightsabers™ make her a formidable opponent. While she left the Jedi Order, she has her own moral compass and fights for justice independently. 

You can recreate some of Ahsoka’s most famous moments with the LEGO® Star Wars™: Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor™. The set includes all of the Interceptor’s famous features, including an opening cockpit, spring-loaded shooters and adjustable wings. It comes with LEGO Star Wars minifigures of Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker, each with their own Lightsaber™ - or two in Ahsoka’s case!

Palpatine

Emperor Palpatine – also known as Darth Sidious – is the ruler of the Galactic Empire, Master to Anakin Skywalker, and the ultimate Sith Lord. His goal is total dominance of the Republic and the destruction of the Jedi Order. Will Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance be able to stop him? 

The LEGO® Star Wars™: Death Star™ (75419) is the embodiment of Palpatine’s evil plan – a giant warship, ordered by Palpatine himself, to allow him to rule by fear. The set contains over 9,000 pieces, making it one of the biggest LEGO® sets ever created! 

An Emperor minifigure also watches over the Lightsaber™ battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the SMART Play™: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing™ (75427). This interactive set, with a SMART Brick included, reacts to how you play with it – including playing the Imperial March when Palpatine sits on his throne.

Kylo Ren

Ben Solo was originally a force for good – the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia, trained as a Jedi under his uncle, Luke Skywalker. But after being manipulated into turning to the dark side by the Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke, he changed his name to Kylo Ren and became a powerful enemy of the Resistance. His complex back story and intense character quickly made him a favorite of the fanbase, who could see echoes of his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, in him. 

Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle is first seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens™, and its signature design – jet black, sleek and streamlined – is recreated in fine detail in the majestic LEGO® Star Wars™: Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (75406) set. This model comes with a nameplate and a buildable stand, creating an eye-catching centerpiece for any room in the home! 

The Kylo Ren Helmet (75415) is another cool display set for Kylo Ren fans, capturing the Sith Lord’s iconic helmet in a scale perfect for display.
