Fly Luke’s Red Five X-Wing™ Through Space!

Red Five, standing by! Ready to take your building adventures into orbit?  Learn how to build your very own deep-space backdrop to fly amongst the  stars. Reenact the thrilling Battle of Yavin or chart a course for a  whole new galaxy—the sky is the limit! (Well, actually, the size of your cardboard is the limit)

    Time: 10 minutes

    What you'll need

    • The Set: LEGO® Star Wars™ SMART Play™: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing™ (75423)
    • The Backdrop: A large sheet of black paper or cardboard
    • The Stars: A pencil or a small pin (Parents, you might want to help with the pointy bits!)
    • Optional Magic: A TV or laptop to display a colorful nebula or a distant planet.

    Step-by-Step Guide:

    Step 1: Prepare for Launch

Grab a large piece of black craft paper or cardboard. Remember: the bigger the paper, the more room you have for epic space maneuvers!

Step 2: Create a Galaxy of Stars

Use your pencil or pin to poke tiny holes all over the paper. When you hold it up toward a light source, you’ll have a shimmering field of stars ready for your mission. Want to go further? Draw your own colorful planets or TIE Fighters zooming in the distance!

    Step 3: Set the Scene

Prop your starry background up against a wall or a stack of boxes. If you’re using a laptop or TV, find a cool space image to use as a digital background for your flight!

    Step 4: Engage the Engines!

Pick up your X-wing and get ready for takeoff. Since this is an All-In-One set, the SMART Brick will bring your scene to life! As you swoosh, tilt, and dive in front of your stars, you will hear the engine’s roar and the zaps of laser fire!
