- January 23rd, 2021Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0DisappointedI would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI am lucky enough to own most of the modular buildings, but I am disappointed with this set. The reason for this, is mainly the colour scheme. Tell me when you have ever seen a bright purple building on the high street? It's just ridiculous. I think that Lego need to make up their minds whether they are appealing to adult collectors or children with the modular range. At the moment it looks like they are trying to have their cake and eat it. I felt this way with the Downtown Diner as well. The modular range is marketed as 18 plus, so please make these sets a little more sophisticated and less like toys. Bring back designers like Astrid please!!!Play ExperienceAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Value for MoneyAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Building Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?35Police Station
- January 20th, 2021Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Modulars loosing the wayCB15TB |Purchased for: SelfBeen collecting all the modular buildings and the earlier sets are far better. As the main building is the police station, not much interior and it has scope to be much better. I would have preferred the modular being just a police station, don’t think it needs the small donut shop (which has more interior), the news stand looks good but don’t think it looks right being outside the police station. I have seen better MOC police stations and would have liked the modular to purely be a police station like the old modular fire station. Modular buildings should be a building rather than cramming other stuff and loosing the main building.Play ExperienceAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Level of DifficultyAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Value for MoneyAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Build Time: 12 hrsBuilding Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?35Police Station
- January 25th, 2021Average rating4out of 5 stars4.0Nice small detailsI would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfNot quite as inspiring as previous models as it didn't shout Police Station to me. The function of the building should be reflected in the style; the bank looked strong and rugged, the cinema looked artistic, the detectives office looked intriguing and the restaurant looked edible! But this was a block, which is made more obvious alongside other buildings, and made worse by the tired joke of attaching donuts to the police. Maybe the spirit of law enforcement would have been respected more by having a security device shop there instead, making it bigger to help the visual balance, covered in rivets, steel gates and maybe dark blue. Saying that though, the layout of the facilities within the station was good, the mugshot camera was tucked into a corner, and I loved the mini darkroom in the tiny space at the top of the building. Squeezing in a toilet is good, but please add a hand basin too as it educates children at the same time. Its a shame the station didn't come with a police vehicle, maybe a dog van or a wagon. But an enjoyable build, the price was a bit steep without a vehicle but nice to have three different styles of building fascia.Play ExperienceAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Value for MoneyAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Build Time: 9 hrsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?45Police Station
- February 17th, 2021Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0Modular-Always a fanI would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI'm new to the modular sets and have charged through all the ones available. This was the first one I had to wait for and I would say it was worth it. Such an enjoyable build, some very fun techniques and some hidden aspects that made me chuckle. My only bug bear is that it was too quick to build, but that's just me. I always want Lego to last longer, but this one seemed a little small for the price. I'm sure it's not but it just seemed it. (still no where near the mark up of the star wars sets though). Definitely recommend for a fan of the creator modular sets, and a fan of doughnuts or an older kid as a first creation build.Play ExperienceAverage rating5out of 5 stars5.0Level of DifficultyAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Value for MoneyAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Build Time: 2 daysBuilding Experience: Intermediate LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Police Station
