- October 21st, 2018Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Pretty coolI would recommend this to a friend! This set was okay, in my opinion. The set had plenty of interior detail, but it looks pretty drab from the outside. It would have been better in lego had put more details to the outside, because when I built this for my cousin,it looked horrible next to his other sets. Also, its price is Waaaaay to high. $150-$250 would have been far more reasonable. Other that that, this set is really nice. Not too hard to build, I would recomend this for people from 7-16 years. - October 13th, 2018Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0Great Play Set... and that's a good thing!Denegar |I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI have been a fan of both LEGO and Star Wars since I was five. One of my favourite locations in the Star Wars universe is Cloud City, so when this set was announced I was both excited and concerned. Excited because I finally got to have my own Cloud City. Concerned because it was a play set rather than a UCS set like I purchase nowadays. I couldn't resist though, and I am NOT disappointed. Yes, it's a play set, and guess what -- that's what makes it so great! I'm a rather reserved adult who enjoys the build experience of the UCS sets, and have them very nicely displayed in my home office, but with this set I can't help myself from actually playing with it. I'll probably tinker with designing an outer shell for it so it can be displayed more like a model when not being played with, but it's great as-is. It invites play. There are so many areas in one model covering all the key scenes. It is very smartly designed. It also has a generous number of cool and rare minifigs. So, in summary, don't hesitate if you're on the fence about this set. Go ahead and spoil your kids, or your inner child, and enjoy it for what it is -- a fantastic play set of an iconic Star Wars location!Play Experience5.0Level of Difficulty3.0Value for Money4.0Building Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Betrayal at Cloud City™
- September 18th, 2018Average rating4out of 5 stars4.0The LEGO I’ve Been Waiting ForI would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfFor nearly a decade I have been waiting for LEGO to remake the classic Cloud City set. After 15 years we have finally received a brand new Cloud City. I can say that it lives up to my expectations. The Minifigures here are top notch especially Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, the Cloud Car pilots and Luke Skywalker. The build was very fun and easy to follow. There were no frustrating parts to it. My biggest complaint, which is a big deal is that it is not very pleasing to the eye. This set is not a very good display set and in addition, it takes up a huge amount of space. In addition, I would have really like to have an extra ugnaught and a new mold for the Cloud City Leia and carbonite Han. Finally, it is a bit expensive especially for a 2, 812 piece set. These issues could honestly make or break the set for some, but I don’t mind. Nevertheless, I really enjoy this set and I am very satisfied with it.Play Experience4.0Level of Difficulty2.0Value for Money3.0Build Time: 7 hrs 45 minsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?45Betrayal at Cloud City™
- September 19th, 2018Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0Way too overpricedPurchased for: Self3rd time trying to submit a review, seems that they weren't approved?? Hmmm.... This set is way overpriced, not sure what Lego was thinking with this set; most fans who were waiting for a new Cloud City are AFOLs. What did we get? A playset with a high price and low piece count. The best parts of this set is the minifigs and the cloud car/slave 1 Other than that, it is a very disorganized and awkward design. My biggest gripe with this is the price. You could get Ninjago City Docks for $140 CAD less, and have 700 more pieces; you could also get Ninjago City for $46 CAD less and have nearly 2x the piece count and detail than this set. For further comparison, the UCS Sandcrawler had 3300 pieces and was still only $350 CAD I do realize that a lot of the cost goes to the bigger pieces and the licensing, but this is just sad. I was hoping for a better, more structured set.Play Experience2.0Level of Difficulty1.0Value for Money1.0Build Time: 3 hrsBuilding Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?15Betrayal at Cloud City™
