Name the Rovers Contest Schedule
November 4th, 2002 The Name the Rovers Contest Begins!
January 31st, 2003: Deadline for all online contest entries
February 7th, 2003: Deadline for all mailed contest entries
March 3rd, 2003: The Mars Exploration Rover spacecraft are shipped from their construction site at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, to Cape Canaveral, Florida.
March 13th, 2003: NASA selects the Mars Exploration Rover landing sites
May 1st, 2003: Announcement of final selection of Rover names
May 30th, 2003*: The first Mars Exploration Rover launches!
June 25th, 2003*: The second Mars Exploration Rover launches!
January, 2004: Both Mars Exploration Rovers land on Mars!

*Indicates opening of launch window, which extends for a 21-day period
