Dit epische model van het Colosseum met maar liefst 9036 onderdelen geeft elk gedeelte van het beroemde bouwwerk nauwgezet weer. Dankzij de authentieke details zijn het noordelijke deel van de buitenmuur en de iconische bogen goed zichtbaar. Het model bestaat uit 3 verdiepingen, versierd met Dorische, Ionische en Korinthische zuilen. De bovenverdieping is versierd met Korinthische pilasters.

    The beating heart of Rome

    First the Cons: EXTREMELY repetitive but considering the structure what else does one expect. Instruction manuals very poorly packaged-pretty much permanently folded Missing pieces- only a few for my set from random bags but there are always extras so I only wound up actually missing One piece. IMHO a design flaw on the base- the orange pieces meant to tie the base pieces together frequently popped off when moving the base around. And the structure of the higher walls is extremely flimsy and requires a very delicate touch to assemble and place on the set. Now- It took me a total of 51 hours in multiple sessions to complete so I got plenty of hands on time with the set. This set is no quickie. I felt like the historical notes interspersed throughout the instruction manuals help give me a better understanding of what I was building and its function 99% of the steps in building each part are logical and made sense however there are a few places were some parts would clearly have gone on easier if they had been put together earlier in the steps and would not have made continuing the section any harder. Even though I’built this thing in multiple different sessions my fingers really were sore after about the first 10 hours and stay that way until the end. In spite of the minor flaws I really love the set and loved building it and loved imagining all of the history involved with real place. I love looking at it every day. Have say say that it is worth every bit of the price even though for a working Joe like me that price is pretty high but a lot of overtime makes up for a lot of shortcomings in finances.

    Julius Caeser!

    The VIP freebie with this set, must of been Julius Caeser! This set defintely catches attention. That's for sure. Also hard to believe that it has more pieces than the Falcon. But hey, can't complain about more pieces for 1/4th less of the price! It is a fairly repetitive set (about 90% of it), some non repetitive, here and there like the middle. The most tedious is probably the tall structure as that is mainly repetitive the first 2-3 floors, except for some of the tops. The base was the hardest part of the set, due to not only doing the halves twice, but some of the brown plug-ins were a pain to try to put in. It is pretty sturdy, as there is no worry about moving it, just finding space for it, as it is pretty big. If you survived putting the Taj Mahal together, then you can survive this fairly easily. My only recommendation is not to think about the repetiveness when you're building, it made it feel faster for me. I split the build over a week, doing a few bags a day, so I wouldn't get bored in one sitting, and tried to stay busy for a week. I'm thinking you will enjoy this set. Fortunately, I had no problem ordering it right away, it got here very fast, within 3-4 days. You will love this set. It was an X-mas present for me. My goal is to visit the Colosseum some day.

    An amazing build but...

    This is truly a one of a kind build and a very long build, pat on the back to the builders for this one. The model from top to bottom is a lovely calm build with some hard parts here and there. Is it repetitive... yes, but in a way which is fun and not boring and long. This Is truly for adults for sure i cant see kids finding this fun. Now! For the bad part, the instructions where a huge downer from start to end, a set this size and price should have a binder kind of instructions and should all be one instruction not four. They got damaged in the single boxes, i have the ucs millennium falcon and i think that’s how it should have been. When building the pages where soo small that the instructions got lost at the seam and i often missed part and steps due to this issue, it was a huge let down Lego I don’t know how u missed that it is clear as Crystal. But with the negatives aside its truly an amazing set and am glad to have it in my collection and wish for further large lego sets you thing of small details.

    A masterpiece

    This set contains an unmatched quantity of detail and beauty: the qualities of what one can consider a masterpiece. For those who have said this set is ‘too repetitive’ or ‘you’re only building the same thing 40 times’ probably have not viewed the set in real life and taken the time to appreciate this. On the other hand, those who have purchased and constructed this set are able to view the set from 360 degrees, of which all angles share the beautiful design and architecture of the Roman’s infamous Colosseum. The plethora of detail like in the hypogeum reassures you that you have created the largest set of all time, and in my opinion, the greatest set of all time. I would recommend this set to anyone willing to take up the challenge of a 15 hour long and arduous build. Do not fear. The accomplishment of constructing this set is far greater than any set I have previously built and really begs the question: how gruelling must construction be for the slaves of Ancient Rome without a manual? For reasons listed above, this set truly deserves the title of the largest Lego set and is a masterpiece just like the 1951 year old Colosseum it portrays. Oli, 13
