Children in Milan to build the tallest LEGO® tower in the world
The event is free of charge and will take place from 17th to 21st June, starting at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan.
The aim of the event is to inspire children to develop their creativity, imagination and team-working skills to ultimately break the latest world record of a 34.76-meter LEGO tower, built in Budapest in 2014.
“I am truly excited to be a part of the EXPO 2015 events and together with thousands of children and parents we will try to break the world record for the tallest LEGO tower ever built. I hope this LEGO play experience can inspire children to think big, creatively and become aware of how to take better care of the planet. We hope to see as many children and parents as possible in Milan to beat the record”, says Paolo Lazzarin, General Manager Italy, the LEGO Group, adding: “Each tiny brick is an important contributor to reaching the record, just as our everyday actions are important to building a better future”.
As a symbol of this idea, the LEGO Group will donate 7 Euros for every centimeter built of the LEGO® tower in support of the project, which focuses on the protection and development of Urban Oasis, in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The project has the main aim to increase citizens’ knowledge and appreciation for nature, so they can become more aware and responsible for the environment they live in. WWF will be present with a dedicated space at the event, during the weekend 20th and 21st June, to provide useful advice to children on how to protect our planet with very simple actions.
Children will also have plenty of opportunities to express their own creativity and imagination at several tables filled with LEGO bricks free to use.
Radio Deejay will offer exclusive building activities to involve everyone each day.
Whoever wants to be part of the story and break a world record, and above all have fun, just has to rush to Fabbrica del Vapore, in Milan, from 17th to 21st June.
