Core Responsibilities

• Sales Reporting, Analysis and Insights
o Responsible for the structure and maintenance of the local business intelligence setup
o Analyze and provide insights on weekly/monthly consumer sales, market inventory and market data reports
o Drive the weekly Business Performance Review meeting (including facilitation of the meeting and preparation of all materials)
o Develop storylining based on both internal and external factors
o Provide early reads (insights) on new product launches with recommendations for future product flow
o Ensure high data integrity
o Prepare focus theme deep dive analysis monthly and identify sales trends
o Prepare analysis to evaluate drivers of commercial performance (including evaluation of marketing / promotional activity)
o Drive continuous improvement to sales reporting processes and tools in collaboration with regional and global BI teams

• Business Partnering
o Assist sales, marketing and operations team by providing account and theme performance data and insights
o Provide training on Business Intelligence Concept and Foundation (BICF) database tool for internal stakeholders when required
o Provide market updates, sales projections and business recommendations for Leadership Team and General Manager (GM) on ad hoc basis
o Provide input to the GM for the APAC BPR meeting and be a sparring partner to the business on commercial decisions and actions

• Master data
o Maintain lines of communications with global BI teams in Europe to deliver on time and accurate results for Global Consumer Sales Tracking (GCST) and reports
o Maintain local master data
o Ensure high data quality and integrity by monitoring data flow from customers to BICF

The Business Intelligence department is responsible for developing insights aimed at supporting our commercial momentum, based on relevant internal and external data. The department is a regional function within the APAC Market Group, with resources located in Singapore and in the markets for local proximity.

The Business Intelligence Manager Japan role is co-located in Tokyo with the BU Japan team and serves as a business partner to the BU GM, delivering actionable insights and reports to enable structured and data-driven decision-making in the market, with a focus on short to medium term commercial momentum. The BI Manager will link in with other functions within the BU but also across the LEGO Group (e.g. Global Insights, Shopper Insights, Corporate Advanced Analytics, Finance) to deliver the mandate.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor degree in related field required
• Minimum 6 years in a business analyst/manager capacity, preferably within FMCG with a focus on POS data
• Track record of strong collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated insight development
• Ability to gain a holistic understanding of the business and make recommendations based on analytical expertise
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data modelling
• Proficiency in BI applications, e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analysis
• Previous experience working with SAP
• Fluent in English and Japanese
• Willingness to travel on occasion for internal meetings, training, conferences, estimated at five times per year
• Willingness to work flexibly especially during peak times where some evening and/or weekend work may be necessary
