"A portrayer robot that masters the art of drawing! LEGONARDO (built by LEGO fan Daniele Benedettelli) is a humanoid portrayer robot inspired by 18th-century clockwork drawing automata. How it works? The drawings are generated from photos by a custom-made Android app that Daniele has created. The app transforms a grayscale image into a vector drawing made of lines and sends it to the robot. The NXC program of the robot parses these vector drawings, computes inverse kinematics for the arm, and controls the motors using ad-hoc feedback loop controllers – Check out this clip from the FIRST Championships in St. Louis to see this awesome fan creation in action!"
