It’s time to celebrate! It’s been 10 years since the first Modular Building was created and introduced to the world. 2006 seems like a long time ago, but that’s when the LEGO® Community team and the Creator design team came together to explore something really special. In the 1980’s, the LEGO line included a modular castle which could be expanded by simply snapping more sections together – a fan favorite. They wanted to see if they could take that much-loved feature and add it to an entirely new expandable house concept.
The small team of designers enthusiastically took on the challenge of defining the new expansion system, connection points and ‘DNA’ of the line. From their combined talents and efforts, they created a solid foundation, with all those key points. After the concept was ready, the first Modular Building 10182 Café Corner was launched in April of 2007.
