- December 31st, 2018Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0Fabulous Dewback!I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfOverall opinion of the set: On hearing about this set it was instantly a must buy; finally a systems brick built Dewback! It’s a delightful little build with many options for posing, and is actually a better scale for the sandtrooper minifigure than either of the previous two moulded Dewback’s included in the various Mos Eisley Cantina sets of the past. I must admit this is my first micro fighter purchase as I’m not such a fan of the distorted scale of the sets- but I do appreciate the appeal of ‘swooshability’ of such small sets for younger children. As much as I love the Dewback, the droid escape pod did little to change my opinion on this, so I can’t see myself becoming invested in the series. Who should buy this set? I ultimately imagine this set will be purchased by two groups of people: children who are the ideal age to be entertained by the micro fighter series, and people like myself who simply can’t resist the Dewback! How are the minifigures? Well to start, to my knowledge this is the first time that there have been 3 minifigures in a microfighter set, so already this set can’t really be criticised in the minifigure department regardless of how the figures turn out! The Sandtrooper with the controversial new ‘large’ stormtrooper helmet in my personal opinion works very very well, and my only wish would be that I could obtain more of them, perhaps in a battle pack of some kind! Otherwise, C3PO is a great figure if you don’t already have him, and R2-D2 gets an appropriate inclusion too, but feels pretty worthless as I think my number of R2’s is pretty solidly into the teens at this point... after 20 years of Star Wars LEGO sets, perhaps it’s finally time for a redesign of that classic astromech design...? Pro’s: -Brick Built Dewback -Lovely new Sandtrooper design -Three minifigures in a microfighter set Con’s: -Yet another droid escape shuttle! -Yet another R2-D2 and C3PO! -Only one Dewback! Personally I pretty desperately want a second Dewback and Sandtrooper, so it’s a shame I can’t purchase one without also obtaining an unusual R2-D2 and C3PO army (though that’s not likely to stop me!)Play Experience5.0Level of Difficulty2.0Value for Money5.0Build Time: 15 minsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Escape Pod vs. Dewback™ Microfighters
- March 11th, 2019Average rating2out of 5 stars2.0Yes the dewback is cute, but......PatrickA |I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI think my title said it all. Yes the dewback is cute, but.......the price is awful. I mean, if you take off the 3 not-exclusive-nor-unique-at-all minifigures, what do you have left ? Few small parts.........for 24,99$ CAD ?........... I recieved this set as a gift from my sister, and I was happy of it. But as much as I love LEGO and all what comes from LEGO factories, LEGO IDEAS, LEGO promotions, etc, I do not think I would have bought this set, even if it was at a discounted price.Play Experience3.0Level of Difficulty1.0Value for Money1.0Build Time: 10 minsBuilding Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?25Escape Pod vs. Dewback™ Microfighters
- July 5th, 2019Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0This is The Mini Set You Are Looking ForI would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfPros: This is a great set for grabbing some droids and a hard to find Sand Trooper. It is actually a very fun build with a few clever techniques. Probably worth it for the figures alone though. Probably my favorite mini build that has been done. It makes a cute display and is very playable for kids. Also there are no stickers! So-So: Price is slightly high at $.11 per part but there is a good selection and hard to find bits in lesser used colors. Cons: None.Play Experience4.0Value for Money3.0Build Time: 5 minsBuilding Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?35Escape Pod vs. Dewback™ Microfighters
- March 9th, 2019Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0Look Sir -- Droids!I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI have the Droid Escape Pod from 2016, and this Minifighter set is a great follow-on/homage to that. You get the escape pod itself, R2-D2 and C-3P0, plus a Sandtooper on a Dewback. Honestly, the Dewback is the highlight of this set, with articulated head and tail and is a fun build as well. The Sandtrooper has the Tatoonine sand all over him and I hope he doesn't find our two favourite intrepid droids.
