LEGO® Brick Vending Machine Challenge Contest At San Diego Comic-Con 2022

OFFICIAL RULES AND PRIVACY RIGHTS NOTICE

Privacy Rights Notice:

The Official Rules are below, but first we want to talk about your privacy! We want you to know what personal data of yours we collect, how we use your personal data, who we share it with, and how long we plan to keep it.

For purposes of running this contest and selecting the winners, here is the personal data LEGO Systems, Inc. will collect from each entrant or, in the case of a minor, the minor’s parent and/or legal guardian:

Additionally, for purposes of awarding the daily top score prizes, LEGO Systems, Inc. will request the following from the selected daily top score winners:

Name of the entrant, or of a minor entrant’s parent/guardian.
Mailing address of the entrant, or of a minor entrant’s
parent/guardian

LEGO Systems, Inc. will use the personal data listed above, and share it with selected third parties, only for the following purposes:

To contact potential winners
To provide prizes to winners
To publicly announce the winners of the prize drawing
To demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations
covering prize drawings

The types of third parties LEGO Systems, Inc, will share your personal data with are:

Regulatory authorities or auditors assessing our compliance with laws
and regulations
Cloud Storage Companies used by the LEGO Group

We will delete your data when it is no longer needed, but in any case, no later than three years after the date it is collected.

Official Rules:

Overview: Visitors to the LEGO® booth at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con are invited to attempt to collect as many virtual LEGO® bricks as they can at the LEGO® Brick Vending Machine. The first 7000 participants over the course of SDCC 2022 will receive a small prize, and the top three scorers each day will win a $100 LEGO® gift card.
This Contest (the “Competition”) is sponsored by LEGO Systems, Inc., 100 Print Shop Road, Enfield, CT 06082.

By participating in this Competition, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

Eligibility: To enter this Competition you must be an attendant of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, and must be a legal resident of the United States.
You are not eligible to enter if you are an employee, partner or immediate family member of an employee of the LEGO Group or any third party company or agency directly connected with the creation or administration of this Competition.
Entry Period: You must submit your Entry during the normal opening hours of any of the five days of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. It is not possible to enter at any other time.
How to enter: During the Entry Period, visit the LEGO® booth and follow the instructions of the staff member and the on-screen instructions at the LEGO® Brick Vending Machine. The object is to “collect” as many virtual LEGO® bricks as possible onscreen within the allotted time. Participants will be required to answer a short non-personal survey question prior to playing.
Limitation on entry: Visitors may play as many times as they like, but must join the end of the queue after each attempt if there are people waiting to play.
Prizes: There are two levels of prizes. Each of the first 7000 participants over the course of SDCC 2022 will receive a small LEGO® building toy item from the list below, to be awarded at random. Additionally, the participants with the top three scores each day of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con will be awarded a $100 LEGO® Gift Card. Winners must meet eligibility requirements. The prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available. The prizes are subject to availability and the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

Note that a maximum of 7000 small prizes will be awarded. If the supply of small prizes is exhausted before the end of SDCC 2022, visitors may still play the Vending Machine Challenge to try to earn one of the top three high score daily prizes.

Selection of Potential Winners and Odds of Winning: The first 7000 participants will receive a small LEGO® item prize, to be determined by a random process within the LEGO® Brick Vending Machine’s software. The three daily high score winners will be determined by the LEGO® Brick Vending Machine’s scorekeeping programming. The odds of winning a particular small prize are set by the number of each available prize as shown above. The odds of winning a daily high score prize are dependent on the number of participants and on the skill of the individual player.
Claiming the Prize: Small prizes will be awarded and distributed on the spot. Potential Winners of the daily high score prizes will be notified by email within 48 hours of the close of the final day of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. Potential Winners have 24 hours from the date of notification to return a Winner’s Certification Statement, attesting to their compliance with these Rules, releasing Sponsor from certain liabilities, and providing any additional required contact information. If a Potential Winner cannot be contacted, has not claimed their prize within 24 hours of notification, or fails to complete the required Winner’s Certification Statement, the participant with the next-highest score for that day will be selected as an alternate Potential Winner.
Certification of Potential Winners: No certification required for small prize winners. All Potential Winners of the daily high score prizes must complete and return a Winner’s Certification Statement, attesting to their eligibility and compliance with these Rules, and releasing the Sponsor from certain liability. Potential Winners must disclose their names, and town or city and state of residence, for inclusion in a Winners List as required by law. If a Potential Winner is a minor, a parent or legal guardian of the Potential Winner will also be required to sign the Winners’ Certification Statement. Upon receipt of the fully executed Winner’s Certification Statement, and confirmation by the Judges, the Potential Winner will be certified as the winner (“Winner”).
Data Privacy: By entering the Promotion, you agree to your personal information being used for the purposes described in these Official Rules and in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found at http://aboutus.lego.com/enus/corporate/privacypolicy.aspx.
The company responsible for handling all privacy data is LEGO System A/S, Aastvej 1, 7190 Billund, Denmark.

By entering the Competition, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the Privacy Policy and you agree to its terms.

Sponsor reserves the right to modify or cancel this competition in
case of technical difficulties, including mechanical, electrical, or
data transmission malfunctions.
Any Entry made or attempted in a manner which in the Sponsor’s
reasonable opinion is contrary to the spirit of these Official Rules,
or by its nature is unfair to other entrants will be invalid and may
result in your disqualification from the Competition.
Reporting prize winnings and paying any applicable taxes,
governmental fees, and other expenses resulting from winning a prize
are the sole responsibility of the Prize Winner unless otherwise
stated; Winners are encouraged to check local tax implications.
