From fairies to fire fighters and nurses to knights, preschoolers relish a costume change. Heck, they can happily play more characters in one day than an actor can play in an entire career. So set the stage for another convincing performance with this LEGO DUPLO DIY mustache.
As any budding thespian will tell you, it’s best to go method. First, ask your little one to pick a person that wears a mustache (this in itself is an exercise in observation and recall skills). If a close family member doesn’t have one, how about the mailman, or the local store owner? Once you’ve nailed down the inspiration, build the mustache together and get role-playing. When adopting different personas, your child’s own identity is actually strengthened – plus it’s a blast pretending to be a grown-up.
The DIY mustache can also be used as the routine of self-care. Older preschoolers might find it fun to build their own electric razor from LEGO DUPLO bricks, and to set up a barbershop (singing compulsory). For further fun, the mustache can become a mouth. Use it to play an emotions game by switching it upwards and downwards, asking “Happy face? Sad face?”.Of course, no excuse is needed to just dress up and mess around – laughter is reason enough. We’d love to see your child’s mustache makes, and you wearing them, so be sure to share the silliness on our Facebook page.
