We all know a toddler that loves to perform in front of a crowd, so why not crank it up a notch by adding some shadow play to the fun?
This LEGO® DUPLO® shadow theater is a great way to teach your little performer about light and shade, and you can experiment with all different kinds of actors and storylines. (You know that one about the duck, the fish and the firehose, right?)
You could also consider adding to the occasion by making theater tickets for your audience and selling snacks during the interval!
You will need:
1. Build a frame on a LEGO DUPLO base plate
We used red LEGO DUPLO bricks to look like real theater curtains, and joined them along the bottom with another row of LEGO DUPLO bricks.
2. Slot the piece of paper behind the frame and fix in place with two towers built from LEGO DUPLO bricks
Make sure the paper fits snugly with no gaps.
3. Add a stage behind your curtains and create a phone holder using LEGO DUPLO bricks
This helps to raise your characters up for the perfect shadowy effect!
4. Decorate the theater and prepare your cast members
Attach LEGO DUPLO figures to separate LEGO DUPLO bricks so that they are easy to move on and off the stage.
