Diego Lopez Sancho – Senior Graphic Designer
Diego Lopez Sancho – Senior Graphic Designer
Before joining the LEGO Group I worked in an advertising agency and studied photography. I’d been a LEGO® fan since childhood though. In fact, I actually sent a letter to the LEGO Group with a drawing, when I was little and they replied telling me what I had to learn in order to be a designer. So, for me, achieving a career where I could make toys that would inspire future generations as much as I was inspired as a kid, has always been my dream.
And I feel I’ve achieved it. As a Senior Graphic Designer, I’m now in charge of creating the new graphics that go on the decorated tiles of LEGO DOTS. It involves a lot of consumer research and collaboration with my colleagues and other departments to align workloads and deliveries. It’s awesome being able to work with such amazing people. I love seeing our creations in the stores that I used to shop in when I was a kid, and other children getting as excited about them as I used to.
LEGO values are at the heart of everything we do. I believe that Imagination is important because we need to inspire the new generations to find creative solutions to different problems. Creativity enables us to find solutions that match the need of many different profiles. Fun makes thing exciting. Learning means that we stay accountable for making the world a better place. Caring sees us bring a positive impact to all of our consumers. And Quality represents our high-quality products that meet our customers’ expectations.
I’m constantly inspired by the people I work with as well as the access I have to future research. I want to continue to grow and develop here. In particular, I’d love to contribute more to coaching and inspiring others through our Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. If you’re a passionate designer this is great place to create awesome products for the next generation of kids.
