Big Data Platform Lead

Would you like to lead our Data Platform Infrastructure team dedicated to making the LEGO Group even more data-driven?

Join us to work with the newest cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies and make your mark on our big data platform and infrastructure.

Develop and strengthen our platform infrastructure

At our HQ in Billund, you will manage the Data Platforms Infrastructure team which is part of Big Data Engineering within Engagement Technology & Analytics. We serve the entire LEGO Group with big data solutions and platforms to strengthen data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for the code base that our infrastructure is built upon as well as maintaining and further building our platform infrastructure to ensure cross-organisational buy-in and alignment.

You will manage a team currently consisting of a Cloudera system administrator, a platform engineer and 3 external solution supplier consultants. As you enter your new role, you will also recruit more platform engineers and consultants to grow your team. The team works in Scrum and develops all of our solutions in Amazon Cloud using DevOps methodologies.

As platform lead, you will function as a “proxy” product owner as you:
- Collaborate with product owners, managing the pipeline of new solutions requests, and the Analytics team that utilises the data to ensure our platform meets the demands of our customers
- Become a part of the Data Engineering and Platforms Leadership team to contribute with your insights and knowledge and ensure the development of optimal solutions
- Delegate tasks and support the team to ensure that the application service level agreement is met at the right time, costs and quality
- Conduct QAs and ensure documentation of developed solutions and tools

You can expect up to 10 travel days a year to collaborate with main customers in our international divisions.

Establishing big data as the future foundation for LEGO® play experiences

As part of a new and exciting journey, your insights on infrastructure technologies and tools will set the direction for our big data platform to benefit the entire LEGO community. Because we know that utilising big data in all we do will make us even better at delivering unique play experiences for children across the world.

Experienced platform engineer ready to manage our big data journey

As a person, you are always on the lookout to challenge status quo through new technologies, insights and ideas. Your solid coordination and collaboration skills will be essential to your ability to make the Data Platforms Infrastructure team a valued partner for the entire LEGO Group. Furthermore, you:

- Have experience as a platform engineer working with big data as well as building and managing a platform infrastructure
- Have developing experience within cloud-based computing
- Hold a degree in engineering, computer science or similar
- Have experience or the competencies to lead, motivate and support a team
- Communicate well in English in both speech and writing
