The Associate Engineer will work in cooperation with Engineering Manager & Tactical team to coordinate the packaging development process starting at concept phase through creation of customer ready displays.

Your specific tasks include:

As the Associate Engineer, you will work with our vendor’s design team to coordinate packaging and displays designed to established standards, troubleshoot problems involving design, materials and processes to provide customer facing solutions in timely and cost-effective manner.

Challenges and Opportunities

A key challenge in this role is the need to develop fact-based design criteria during the conceptual stage. Successful design criteria is a result of successfully working cross-functionally. This role must work in a collaborative manner with Sales, Supply Planning, Procurement, Marketing and vendors to influence team members in creating optimal packaging solutions. The right candidate will maintain industry knowledge of packaging solutions and influence account teams on innovative designs. These designs will result in cost savings, best practice inventory management solutions and a simplified production process.
The Associate Engineer will be a member of integrated team responsible for managing development process from concept to execution to produce a customer ready display or Tacticals. Tactical products deliver a strategic competitive advance that mobilizes LEGO sales team to gain incremental space, deliver promotions, execute focused campaigns and meet customer expectation necessary to drive top line sales. This position will manage a broad range of complexities; including coordinating display designs starting at conception phase, creation of material specifications necessary for production and Supply Chain, optimizing space, inventory management, and aligning cross-functional departments.

Do you have what it takes?

• 1-3 years experience; preferably in an engineering or a packaging related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business
• Strong communication skills; written and verbal
• Proven skills in problem solving, leading initiatives within a collaborative environment
• Demonstrated leadership experiences, collaboration, design and troubleshooting though prior work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
•Project Management a plus
