This role is essential for ensuring timely delivery of import shipments while adhering to regulations and LEGO Group policies. You will manage daily operations efficiently through effective communication with internal and external collaborators, always considering internal customer needs. This position supports continuous production at the LOM manufacturing site.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage Import Operations: Collaborate with Customs Brokers to ensure timely and compliant import operations according to regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate Transport Operations: Oversee end-to-end transportation from shipping to receiving, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed INCOTERMS, timing, and cost.
  • Maintain Systems and Compliance: Update systems and tools to ensure accurate information transfer to Mexican Customs, adhering to processes for high compliance and brand protection.
  • Update Guides and SOPs: Keep user guides and SOPs current to ensure compliance with customs certifications and SQDC standards through continuous alignment and updates.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work effectively with Customs Brokers, transportation companies, and internal teams to manage daily operations, address exceptions, and implement new setups.
  • Risk Management and Improvement: Identify and mitigate risks, escalating when necessary, while proactively improving processes through software solutions and simplification strategies.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade and customs, International Commerce (or equivalent) with strong experience in Import Operations.
  • Solid knowledge of in Mexican Customs brokers agencies coordinating import - export shipments, IMMEX Companies, Mexican International Trade Law, Mexican Customs Law, Customs Rules, General Rules, Free Trade Agreements and benefits, AEO, CTPAT, VAT-IEPS Certification.
  • Use of annex 24 software and use of SAP or equivalent
  • Desirably certified in CTPAT and AEO as auditor or with a strong field training, plus deep theoretical knowledge
  • Advanced communication skills both in English and Spanish, verbally and in writing and comfortable in presenting complex ideas.
