Job Description

Be the data-led voice that translates China’s shifting economic and retail landscape into the LEGO Group’s store roadmap, where insight directly shapes stores experienced by millions of builders.

Core Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret key macroeconomic indicators across China to understand implications for LEGO’s offline retail strategy.
Analyse national and regional retail market trends, shifts in consumer behaviour, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
Shape and continuously refine LEGO’s offline retail expansion roadmap across priority cities in China.
Define city entry priorities and store rollout sequencing using data-driven insights, market potential, and LEGO brand positioning.
Partner closely with China MG, GCD and Finance to align expansion plans with wider commercial and strategic objectives.
Translate complex market and performance data into clear, actionable insights for senior, non-analytical stakeholders.
Build and maintain dashboards and regular reporting to track market trends, city rankings, and expansion progress.
Support special initiatives including pilot formats, pop-ups, and regional deep-dives to test new concepts and respond to market shifts.
Work closely with the Senior Manager for the China market, taking clear direction and leveraging ongoing mentorship to deliver impact.

This role sits within the Global Expansion and Footprint Strategy team, working alongside peers who influence the expansion and portfolio strategy for 1,000+ LEGO branded stores across 50+ markets.
Do you have what it takes?
3+ yrs in top-tier consultancy retail practice or retail corp strategy/analytics
Expert in Excel & Power BI; SQL or Python
Proven track record turning macro/consumer data into city-level store expansion plans
Bilingual Mandarin & English, concise story-telling to senior stakeholders
Proven comfort in global teams: joins late-night calls with global teammembers, defends China insights in English, flexes across time-zones without dropping momentum
Nice to have:
Toy, FMCG, fashion or mall-operator background
Storyboard sketcher: turns numbers into one-page infographics that stick on the wall
