Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a collaborative HR Manager and People Partner. The role requires a strategic approach and a focus on HR operational topics. You will own the country HR agenda for Spain and Portugal.  

This is a manager specialist position that provides HR business partnering support to the General Manager and the leadership team of the Iberia Commercial Business Unit.  

Please Note:   

  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position   

  • The role can be based out of our Madrid HUB Orense, 34 - Pta. 6 
    E-28020 Madrid Spain. Our hybrid working model is 3 days office/2 days home weekly.  

Core Responsibilities  

HR Business Partner:  

  • Provide strategic partnering primarily to the General Manager and the leadership team of the Iberia Commercial Business Unit.  

  • Give strategic advice and set directions for the respective people's agenda.  

  • Facilitate organizational change processes and enable the organization for the delivery of the future strategy (capability assessment and building processes), support leadership team in org development, talent management; co-create and drive the engagement agenda.  

  • Act as trusted mentor and sparring partner for people leaders to drive performance and increase team efficiency.  

  • Advise and co-develop the executive group as an effective team with the BU leader.  

  • Lead strong and impactful deployment of core HR processes in collaboration with global Centers of Excellence (CoE).  

  • Accountable for recruitment prioritisation and organizational / workforce governance (org design principles i.e. spans and layers, FTR baseline, etc.).  

  • Leverage CoE’s as business needs emerge that can be supported through our Operational teams (e.g. Global Reward, BSO, Mobility).  

Site Lead:  

  • Accountable for the country HR and social agenda for Spain and Portugal: office and store(s).  

  • Collaborate with business and HR departments to provide regional insights and drive a cascade of global processes into country specific deployment if needed.  

  • Oversee close collaboration with shared service center, operational HR department, and the external labor consultant for flawless execution of end-to-end employee cycle processes.

People Partnering covers Business Partnering as well as local employee relations, benefits, policies and execution. The partnering organization is responsible for developing and deploying the people & culture agenda in line with the LEGO Group strategic direction.  

This role is integrated in the People Partnering, Western Europe and this team is driving all the partnering and local people agenda within the region!  

Do you have what it takes?  

  • Several years of HR experience in a global, matrixed organization. Ability to balance local needs vs. global directions and influence accordingly.  

  • Experience with the HR agenda in Spain and Portugal and adept at solving complex, legal / compliance cases.  

  • Demonstrable experience in labor relations and collective bargaining.  

  • Skilled in leading stakeholders across all levels, both internally and externally, with strong written and verbal communication. Experience in organizational change and business coaching is an advantage. 

  • Knowledgeable in business practices with experience in project work and familiarity with project management tools. 

  • Experience working with data to inform, make proposals and influence decisions, in particular with compensation data, statutory reports.  

  • Ability to lead various priorities and deadlines while navigating uncertainty. 

  • Open minded, solution and result oriented, structured, and a strong collaborative approach.  

  • Proficient in both Spanish and English. Portuguese is a real plus.
