Join us in powering the creative engines behind LEGO® design. As Lead Engineer for Graphics & Color, you will help build and evolve the tools and pipelines that enable our graphic designers and 3D artists to bring decorations and visual elements to life - both physically and digitally. Your technical leadership will directly influence how ideas become iconic LEGO® experiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Design technical solutions together with the product team, collaborating on discovery tasks with product managers, design leads, and business stakeholders.
- Develop, operate, and maintain robust, scalable solutions, balancing feature set, security, quality, and deadlines.
- Continuously improve the health of the team's codebase and systems, ensuring transparency to its state across development to live environments.
- Explore and evaluate new technologies to enhance and evolve our solutions.
- Actively participate in and contribute to cross-organizational initiatives, sharing knowledge and building communities.
- Connect and collaborate across technical and non-technical roles, ensuring alignment of solutions to business objectives.

In Creator and AFOL Technology, we develop and operate applications that empower LEGO® design colleagues to innovate and create new elements and products.
As Lead Engineer for the Graphic & Color team, you will be responsible for the tools and pipelines supporting our graphic designers and 3D artists who create decorations and stickers. These assets are used on our physical LEGO® elements as well as in our digital value chain for model CAD, 3D rendering, game asset creation, and beyond.
Your leadership and engineering craftsmanship will directly impact the creative process and product quality.
Do you have what it takes?
- Very experienced in software engineering, with expertise in cloud-backed solutions (AWS preferred), software architecture paradigms, and development methodologies (TDD, BDD).
- Proven experience with both C# and Python in building production software with multiple collaborators.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks, with an understanding of web security.
- Understanding of Domain Driven Design and loosely coupled systems.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end feature development teams using modern agile methodologies.
- Effective communication skills for leading complex technical discussions and decision making processes within and across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in a leading role (technical lead or team lead), with a focus on mentoring and team development.
- Passion for producing high quality technical documentation and visual representations to document, guide and communicate product development.
- Experience with applying AI solutions on day to day tasks to increase efficiency.
- Working knowledge of the Qt Framework.
- Adobe Illustrator plugin authoring experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
