You will help define the technical direction for AM while supporting teams throughout the organization to effectively adopt and expand these capabilities!
Core Responsibilities
In this role as Lead Engineer - Additive Manufacturing, you will help expand and mature Additive Manufacturing (AM) capabilities across the LEGO® portfolio while supporting the implementation of new technologies developed by our AM Technology Development team into production.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the LEGO Group—from design and engineering to production—to ensure seamless integration of AM across the value chain. More specifically, you will:
Lead initiatives that expand AM capabilities within equipment and element development, supporting the continued growth of the AM program
Act as a technical lead for AM processes by establishing standards, guidelines, and scalable workflows across the value chain
Drive competence building within the organization by mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge, and strengthening AM capabilities across teams
Collaborate closely with Product Managers and the Additive Engineering team to define technical direction, and ensure progress on key initiatives
Identify and implement digital tools and workflows that automate and scale the AM production pipeline
Collaborate with the AM Technology Development team to address technical challenges, stabilize platforms, and promote innovation in AM production capabilities
Engage key collaborators across the organization to ensure alignment, adoption, and support for AM initiatives
Support the development of robust and scalable AM production processes

Additive Engineering is located in Billund and manages the development, engineering, and delivery of Additive Manufacturing (AM) components and equipment at the LEGO Group.
The department prioritizes applying polymer and metal AM technologies to fulfill production objectives through developing solid Engineering solutions and establishing consistent processes for dependable manufacturing. Collaborating tightly with the AM technology development team, Additive Engineering promotes the progression and scaling up of AM technologies for large-scale industrial implementation.

A background in engineering, technical, or related field
Technical understanding and experience with additive manufacturing, production, and related technologies
Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with creative thinking capabilities
Ability to manage technical uncertainty and advance engineering development in emerging manufacturing technologies
Strong collaborator management skills and collaborative problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to the engineering teams and leadership
Mentorship approach
Proficiency in English both verbally and written
