In this role you will be the technical expert on resin sustainability in a strategic context. The role sits at the intersection of sustainability ambition, deep materials science, and commercial reality.
You will shape and support the company’s sustainable resin strategy, translating complex technical topics into clear standards, recommendations, and decisions up to and including the executive leadership team. You will work closely with the Sustainable Materials Strategy Lead, and a wide network of internal and external partners.
Core Responsibilities
Act as the technical lead on resins within Sustainable Materials Strategy, with a strong focus on sustainability, mass balance systems and other chain of custodies, and certification of sustainable materials and feedstocks
Support the development and evolution of our sustainable resin strategy, ensuring alignment between sustainability goals, technical feasibility, and commercial logic
Develop and deliver company standards, principles, and recommendations related to:
Sustainable feedstocks and sourcing pathways
Technologies and production processes
Measurement models, mass balance approaches, and traceability
Certification schemes and compliance requirements
Lead and deliver cross-functional projects on complex, high-impact topics, from early exploration through to implementation recommendations
Analyze, structure, and present complex trade-offs (technical, sustainability, cost, scalability, risk, etc.) to senior leaders, enabling clear and timely decisions
Serve as a bridge between technical experts, sustainability specialists, commercial teams, and leadership, ensuring shared understanding and alignment
Design and run internal learning sessions on deep technical topics for various internal audiences, translating complexity into clear, engaging narratives
Represent the LEGO Group in external collaborations and dialogues related to sustainable resins, mass balance, certification frameworks, and more.

Sustainability is a globally based team leading the strategic-planning and target setting, and providing thought leadership and strong program management enabling our high sustainability ambitions and driving impact both inside and outside the LEGO Group. The team is led by our Chief Sustainability Officer reporting directly into the CEO. This role is anchored in the Sustainable Products & Packaging Strategy team, who is responsible for the setting the strategic directions and sustainability standards to deliver more sustainable products and packaging over time. The role will report into the Senior Director of Sustainable Products & Packaging Strategy.
Do you have what it takes?
Extensive relevant work experience, preferably in a corporate setting
Deep expertise in resins and polymer materials, with a strong track record in sustainability-related applications including deep understanding of a wide range of feedstocks
Solid knowledge of mass balance systems, traceability models, and their practical application in industrial supply chains
Strong understanding of certification schemes and standards for sustainable materials (e.g. bio-based, recycled, ISCC PLUS and other frameworks)
Proven ability to connect sustainability ambitions with commercial and operational realities, including cost, scalability, and supply security
Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working across highly complex, matrixed organisations
Exceptional ability to translate complex technical topics into short, crisp, and compelling communication for non-expert audiences
Strong project management capabilities, including structuring ambiguous problems, driving progress, and delivering outcomes
High-level skills in PowerPoint, storytelling, and executive communication, including presenting difficult decisions and trade-offs to senior leaders
Strong business understanding, able to balance sustainability ambition with profitability, scalability, and long-term value creation
