Senior Software Engineer

Are you passionate about software engineering with an appetite for continual learning and want to be part of a results-oriented team that builds a solid and versatile digital platform?

We are looking for two Senior Software Engineers to be part of the team building the Play Software Platform that enables our colleagues to easily experiment with new technology and create excellent play experiences for kids of all ages.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver robust software solutions that help bridge the gap between physical and digital play

  • Build, identify and mature platform components for use and reuse in both internal and user-facing applications

  • Work closely with other engineering fields to build a cohesive and accessible platform for crafting new play

  • Work in multi-functional product teams, collaborating across the full value-chain in software & product development

  • Ensure world-class quality and the strong LEGO values that consumers expect from our brand

Play Software Platform delivers the software platform used to create engaging digital play experiences for all LEGO users. We build easy to use interfaces for algorithms and hardware.

Do you have what it takes?

You are a strong and agile team player and ideally have the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent working experience

  • Proven experience developing software across multiple platforms and integrating technology solutions

  • Experience creating good architecture and reusable components

  • Can strike a balance between perfecting software and making rapid delivery

  • Desire to take ownership of solutions focusing on the quality of the end product

  • An interest in device specific programming for iOS and Android

  • Worked on projects that integrate hardware, firmware and software. E.g. communication protocols or API wrapping

  • Experience with VR, AR, AI, Metaverse

  • An ability to translate user stories and customer requirements into good software designs and solutions

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a fluency in both written and spoken English
