Toa Rama

The Toa Rama are the protectors of the island of Nui Rama. The Island was named that after it broke off the northern continent and resembled a Nui Rama. Being too small to be very important, the island of Nui Rama is almost never included in maps. When the visorak hordes were disbanded by Vakama, some of them passed through Nui Rama on their way back to their native island and almost completely destroyed it. Even though the toa tried to stop them, they only succeeded in saving about two thirds of the matoran population, and three of the toa died leaving only Lekarik the toa of Air and leader of the Toa Rama, Tarvarc toa of Fire, and Gakomi toa of Water. In order to survive the attack the toa needed to scavenge for replacement armor whenever it was ripped off by the visorak. Lekarik paid dearly for his outstanding heroism with his arm. It is said that in the heat of the battle upon losing his arm Lekarik grabbed a slain visorak in his other arm, and used it as a shield to defend himself. He also needed to get a replacement mask after his was shattered by a visorak Suukorak. More recently however, the Toa Rama have been leading skirmishes against the Dark Hunters`
