Toa Gilahu (and variations)
So, finally there is a Bionicle gallery! How better to celebrate that than by finally posting my Self-MOC?
Nah, ok, it's an old Self-MOC. A very old one. Basically it isn't a Self-MOC at all, or not that I remember. It just used my "Bionicle name".
So, how old is that version from Pic 1? Well, I can't be sure, of course, as I built it out of memory just a couple of weeks back, but basically that look is from 2001, when I was five years old and tried to make a combiner model out of Pohatu and Tahu Mata. It lasted for about a day before I took it apart again, I guess. Nevertheless, this is the closest I ever came to making a Self-MOC.
As I said, it's a combiner of Tahu and Pohatu, so I tried out combining the other versions of those two Toa. Gilahu Nuva somehow lacks the simple and nice look of the "original" and the CCBS version I don't like at all, but I guess I did a good job on the Phantoka/Mistika version. Still, in my opinion, the "original" is best.
So, you might ask yourself that if this is not really a Self-MOC and as I never did another one - do I even have a character that represents me in-universe?
Yes I do.
Perhaps I might build him eventually, perhaps not. He's definately difficult to do as a Bionicle MOC, as he is a purely organic being that came into the Matoran Universe by accident from a different dimension. He's some kind of humanoid dragon named Gordon. (I actually had no idea this was a real name, when I invented him ten years or so ago, because in my country there's basically nobody named Gordon)
Well, that said, what do you think about Toa Gilahu?
