Klaikix, "the Maskless Collector"

Character Backgroud:

Common knowledge on this being is nonexistent. Because of his red eyes, transparent body, massive (legendary) sword, and large level 2 multi-elemental stud blaster, any villager who sees him is bound to scream - though Kessek practically worships him due to his color, power, and occupation.

Klaikix is a collector who wears no mask, though he has collected many throughout the ages (such as the Mask of Creation and Mask of Control, both of which he replaced with weaker copies). He sees himself as natures force of balance, keeping both light and dark from gaining the upper hand.

Klaikix was created from excess elemental energy at the time the Elemental Creatures came into existance, similarly to Umarak "the Hunter." He has plated himself with elemental energy to gie himself even more power, and currently is working on a project draining the elemental power from the creatures to "construct" a creature of his own.

Klaikix has been collecting items for millenia, and was at one point good friends with Ekimu and Makuta. Now he is completely forgotten by all but select few, beings who took it upon themselves to disrupt the balance. He still collects items, though where he stores them, no one knows.

Klaikix wields a level 2 elemental stud blaster, capable of dealing 4x the damage (2^2, level 3 would be 3^3), and uses a sword that was once a legend and now is forgotten - formed entirely of protodermic silver-steel, a material from another universe, it has a zamor blaster and an incredibly strong blade.

Klaikix typically does not intervene when people are having issues: his philosophy is that if someone gets themself into trouble, they can get out or they don't deserve to live - which is why he allowed Ekimu to fight Makuta, even though the repercussions woud be rather terrible.

His current goal is to find the Mask of Ultimate Power and replace it with a weaker copy as well. But will he succeed before the toa find it - or find him?

Building/Inspiration:

Klaikix came about when my brother discombobulated a couple toa and monsters that had transparent pieces. I have long desired to construct a being from such, and so I got to work. I used as many transparent pieces as I could, everyhing from stud blaster to every last piece of armor (the armor plating is, of course, not transparent). He even has a transparent hand (though Skri'tcheka, his sword, has turned his other hand into protodermic silver-steel). I decided to give him red eyes because that would make him look more menacing and evil, despite his actual nature (which he tends to ignore for the sake of balance and anonymity). I also figured that, being a large character who wields a sword, he should have a gear function, so I gave him one - and it turned out great, giving him room to add armor and not leave bare joints as well. I originally planned on giving him a mask, but that would be too misleading as to good guy/bad guy, plus I figure he looks pretty good without one (however, his eyes flop around so I'll need to do something about that when I get Umarak (shipping is estimated to take a month though)). I originally had him constructed using the eyes/headpiece of the Lord of Skull Spiders as his chestplate, but I figured I should swap it out so that I could keep Arachnix constructed. However, I got a picture of him wearing it (as a sort of chest-piece trophy) above.

The Physical Side of Things - A Sort of Model Review:

Klaikix stands nearly 8 inches (20.25 cm) tall. He would cost at least $25, probably more (like $35) (though I built him from spare pieces as opposed to purchasing new ones this time).

Armor coverage is good on him, especially on the front and sides (even the side of his torso is well armored). The back of (not inside of) his arms are armored, and he has an armor piece on his back (torso), but his legs are not armored in the back - I sacrificed pose-ability for armor coverage, as he still looks great with those transparent leg pieces.

Pose-ability is alright, but not the best. His legs are somewhat loose at the ankles, and his arms constantly hit the armor pieces covering the sides of his chestplate. He has 3 articulation points per limb (and of course 1 on the neck), plus 2 articulation points connecting him to his shoulder-mounted stud launcher. The only real difficulty he has is with his arms up by the shoulders - his armor on the sides of his chest, as I've said before, gets in the way of arm movement (if anyone knows a neat way to fix this/replace a couple pieces, please say so in the comments). Klaikix also has a gear function allowing him to swing his right arm up and down, for a chopping motion with his sword-arm. This also is obstructed by his armor, unfortunately.

His arm also had trouble staying up, so he has two friction gear pairs, seen in a picture above. This does not really get in the way.
