sometimes some rebel ships have decent shielding, sometimes enough to fend off blasts from tie fighters, this is why the imperial navy commissioned Kuat Drive Yards to create a multi purpose walker to board such vessels. Despite being created for deep space, the I.S.T has seen service as underwater, guards, and a construction vehicle, alongside it's original purpose.
