Enkidu, companion of Gilgamesh
From the epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu is the wild man, one who remains untouched by nature, lives with animals, and eats grass. He was created by the gods to humble Gilgamesh, who at the time was abusing his privileges as king of Uruk. When the two met, they fought long and hard. It took all of Gilgamesh's strength to conquer his foe. Afterwards, the two became fast friends and went on many adventures.
This MOC was made for a contest where the goal was to make a mythical creature. I've always been a fan of the epic of Gilgamesh, so I chose this character from it. Enkidu is generally depicted with small horns, but I chose to go the route of the untamed version and exaggerate them, along with his legs, giving them a more goat-like feel. I tried also to give him a beard, characteristic of Sumerian art, but that failed. I'll probably try again at a later date.
