    Ever since I was young, I have always wanted the Lego death star, but the old one was so outdated that I never saved enough to get it. Once this one came out, I knew I had to get it. It doesn't deserve All the hate, just because it is $100 more. It has so many minifigs and big plates that are worth more than 10 cents per piece. I just wish it could have had a little more updates such as remodeling some of the interior. They could have put some grey pieces to put on the emperor's stairs, like the Death Star final duel set had. Also the trash compactor leaks pieces a lot. That's why I fixed those things!

    I was only missing one piece!!! I love buliding Lego star wars sets, or and Lego set. First of all, I think you get a great money's worth. You can clearly see how much time went into desinging this set. Second, easy to buliding of you commit, lots of different pieces! Good set!

    I was really looking forward to the release of this set due to the beautifully updated Minifigures and the minor changes made to the Death Star. While building this set, I noticed several HEAVILY scratched and nicked bricks (I included a couple examples (I apologize for the poor photo quality)). I own the original Death Star (10188), and I had none of these issues. My new set looks like it was roughly played with and about 20 years old. I have other sets I purchased recently, and none have had this problem. The good part is I can order replacement parts from LEGO, but unfortunately, I'll have to wait several weeks for the new pieces. I would have given this a higher score, but I was incredibly disappointed by the quality control issues.

    I was surprised to see how many people gave this a 1* review simply because it is a re-release of an older set. It’s almost as if these people don’t know or care that new children are born every day; and some weren’t around when the old set was for sale. My nieces are two such people, and they are thrilled to be able to role play with this amazing set. They like to mix up all different lego themes, so some of the characters from lego Friends find themselves trapped on the Death Star. It is an expensive set, but, IMO, worth every penny.
