Although mainly designed for civilian use, T-16 Skyhopper airspeeders also make excellent training vehicles for X-wing fighter pilots due to their similar control systems. It takes quick reflexes and good piloting instincts to fly a Skyhopper as it skims over a planetary surface.

Hand-picked from the many elite shuttle pilots in the Imperial Navy, the pilots who fly Director Krennic’s personal shuttle are specially trained to handle the sophisticated controls of the state-of-the-art craft while transporting the Death Star project’s commanding officer to his next destination.
