Then you should join our team!The global Data Engineering team consists of 50+ hardworking internal and external people spread out globally, with this role sitting in the Data Products and Analytics team in our LEGO office in Enfield which is a small subunit. Our Data Engineering unit build solutions for all areas in the LEGO Group.
As a Senior Data Engineer you will work within a global multi-functional team that uses a combination of Bog Data, coding and cloud services to build data products, e.g. data products for data storage, processing and making data available to the users as well as applied Machine Learning/ Artificial Intelligence products, with full-stack responsibility of solutions. The team collaborates closely with our data management and advanced analytics teams to fulfill the high priority goal of making the LEGO group more data driven in the future.
Responsibilities:•Develop and deliver solutions based on technologies and partner requirements, e.g. data pipelines, recommender systems and Image recognition
•Design and implementation of scalable and data intensive solutions
•Share knowledge with the other data developers within LEGO
•Ensure that functionality and design meet LEGO Business requirements
•Help operate and support current running Data solutions with the rest of the team
•Automate algorithms and processes developed by analytics and business teams
Qualifications•Software engineer or developer with a degree in Computer Science or similar.
•Enjoy working with the combination of code and data modelling working with technologies like S3, HDFS, Spark, Gitlab, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambdas, Docker and Hive, but we are constantly looking for new possibilities for improving our stack.
•Experience working with Big Data or distributed computing
•Experience within applied Machine Learning or AI
•Good experience with general software development in Python and Scala or Java
•Strong knowledge around software design and coding best practices
•A desire to learn new skills and technologies
•A focus on keeping deadlines and proactively delivering high quality results
•Experience with cloud services, preferable AWS products
•Great interpersonal skills and a passion for working with colleagues and partners
