This set is one of the most well thought-out and innovative sets I have every made, and surprisingly detailed for the number of pieces. Many of the recent sets have been great at hiding the torpedoes/ lasers, but this set has one of the best and creative ways of launching the projectiles. Not to mention, the set has two of the most iconic and fan favorite ships in the saga. A-Wing Other than being a little sticker heavy, this ship is nearly perfect: great detail; nice, inconspicuous landing gears; near scale; etc. The best part is definitely the firing mechanism. The sliding of the center of the ship is a great way to fire the projectiles and keep the streamlined look of the ship. Only gripe is the minifig has to sit far from the "controls", and has to sit in just the right position or the moving parts hit and move the minifig. Also, the green coloring is nice and great for keeping with the ships seen in Rebels. Vader's Tie The first thing to notice is the ship is smaller and not to scale, but keeps to how the ship was presented in the show. Having said that, the detail is amazing and has to be one of my favorite ships in recent memory. Again, the firing mechanism is great and built near seamlessly into the design. Also, the cockpit for Vader is great that he slips in and out easily without having to click him down. Minifigures Each fig is very detailed and has great printing. Sabine has much better hair than her last minifig, though I wish her helmet was included especially considering the price of the set. Like other reviewers said, I wish Sabine's skin tone was closer to the show. The pilot is really nice and the helmet has great printing. Tarkin is a great welcome and his expressions are great in capturing the iconic villain. Vader is fantastic with the new two piece helmet and a unique chest print for the Rebel set; it's nice to have a fabric cape and not the normal ones that crease so easily. I also really like Vader and Tarkin are given a "slim" profile with the printing, mimicking the art style of the show. Overall This set is fantastic and has great play features with unique ways to build in the projectiles. It's great getting two of the most iconic ships and great minifigs, and is truly one of my favorite recent sets. The price is where this set falls short, at $90 for around 700 pieces is pretty steep, even for a Star Wars set.Play Experience5.0Value for Money2.0Was this helpful?

Another great set from the Lego Star Wars range. The Darth Vader Tie Advanced vs Rebel A-Wing is a nice wee set that combines a fun build experience with two iconic vehicles and some excellent minifigures. The Tie Advanced is smaller than previous versions but is in keeping with the Rebels TV show style and although compact it features all of the components needed to bring this classic design to life. Also features a well-thought out fire button for the missile system. The A-Wing is a great improvement on the previous model, now featuring movable rear wing foils that make it a bit more dynamic. Also the green colour scheme sets it apart from other Alliance ships and makes it stand out on the shelf. Very sticker heavy but I think they do make the whole model come together. I feel the missile fire system on the A-Wing is a bit awkward, but I do like the new landing struts, they are simple yet effective. Both ships are compact and feel durable enough for play but are detailed enough to be worthy additions to a display collection too. The minifigures are all spot on. Sabine features updated hair which, even with subtle changes, is much better than her first hair, but seriously Lego can we have her with the correct skin-colour please???. The new version of Vader is great as it was in the Emperor's Throne Room set. We also have a completely new A-Wing pilot from Rebels (great to have a female pilot!) and a Rebels-style Moff Tarkin which is also great as he hasn't had many outings in minifigure form and yet is one of the most iconic villains of the saga. Overall I reckon this is a great set for display and for play and I hope Lego brings in more of these combination sets which allows us to have proper battles. My one gripe would be the price. At £80 I (and I think everyone else) expect at least a couple more minifigures in a set this size, especially when you consider that the First Order Transport which retails for the sameprice featured 7 minifigures (as well as more pieces!). Perhaps a Commander Sato minifigure or a Rebels-specific Ahsoka - both of whom were present during this battle! Despite this admittedly small gripe I would highly recommend this set. Great ships, great minifigures, great fun!Play Experience5.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?

I am sixteen and do work for my friends and family. I work hard for the money that I make and it takes a lot of work to earn $100. This set is definitely not worth the money, at the normal rate of lego prices this set should be priced at $69 not $89. For $89 or $100 with tax this set should have been huge. With this set you get a 2 tiny ships. This is not my first lego set. I have over 200 lego sets and by far this is the most disappointing. DO NOT BUY THIS SET!!!!!!! If you want a lego set that is worth your money buy the poes xwing or the resistance xwing.23 June 2016Allison Consumer Service Specialist, Consumer ServiceThank you for review we always value what our fans have to say. We are sorry that you feel the price of the set is too expensive. When our designers design a licensed set there are particular molds and bricks that have to be made this rising the cost of some of our sets. In this set there are three minifigure redesigns, Grand Moff Tarkin, Sabine Wren, and A-Wing Pilot; and with the redesigns we have to make molds. We do hope that you enjoying the new minifigures that did come with the set. Sabine is from season 2, and we are excited about the new A-Wing Pilot from the Phoenix Squadron. We are really excited about the redesign of Grand Moff Tarkin since he hasn’t been redesigned since he was in our beloved Death Star 10188. Thank you again for your review, we will make sure we pass along your feedback to our awesome Star Wars™ design team. As my first review this might not be super detailed but... 1. Vaders Tie is amazing in my opinon, the build was fun and simple. Vader minifugre is awesome as is every other vader that has come out! I use it to display so play ability is probably good but i dont know first hand. 2. A-wing is cool as a display piece, i wish it was a little bigger. The A-wing pilot figure is very nice though. It does have a very nice action feature to fire missiles which i though was a fantastic idea! 3. Over all i think its pretty fantastic Lego gave us 2 ships in one box. price wise ive heard people not agree on the price per piece but for me if i like the set ill buy it. This was my first Vader's tie so i had to jump on itPlay Experience4.0Value for Money4.0Was this helpful?
