I would recommend this to a friend!
This is by all means the best "value for money" block set. You get 80 pieces, a good variety of colors and a few interesting sizes as well. We've gotten many other duplo sets and this basic blocks set impressed me far more than any of the other tubs or boxed sets. Pros: Nothing but value, as always you can use these with older kid/adult legos in the future. Again, this is the best starting point for duplo and the best addition to a well established collection. This an ok package but I personally feel that the distribution of sizes is a bit off. There are only 24 pcs of 2x4 bricks, which I think is the 'basic' building block. I would really like to see sets with basic pieces. Eg a box with only 2x4 blocks, another with 2x8 blocks etc, maybe even single colour.Play Experience4.0

In the lego store I wanted to get a very fancy set for my child and the employee suggested this as a starting place because you don't have to invest much to see if your child enjoys duplo. The pieces are pretty basic with a couple of clear blue cubes, some black, white, and orange pieces, and a long green and long yellow piece.
