Syncing and connecting Power Functions remote and receiver

Testing your LEGO® Power Functions receiver and remote is easy!

Before you test them with the following steps, make sure you’re using new, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries with a long positive output. For more advice on batteries, click here.
 

1. When checking the connection of your remote and receiver, make sure that the receiver is connected to the battery box and the box is turned on.
2. Put your remote and receiver on the same channel using the orange switch.
3. Point the remote straight at the receiver. Normally your reception should be fine if you’re staying within a 10-meter radius. Bright sunlight, low batteries in the remote or obstacles between the remote or receivers can influence the reception.
4. The light on the remote should light up solid when you press the buttons or dials. The light on the receiver should flicker.
