Great concept but needs better instructions

I bought this set for my son for his 12th birthday. We have put together at least 100 Lego sets between my two boys at this point in our lives. We watched videos of this being put together and I read reviews. We decided to not use the kragle and just make sure that all the pieces were put together as snuggly as possible. The building of the set was smooth up until the end. When we went to attach the trees it kept falling apart. We would stop, put everything back together and try again. After doing this 3 times with the same result we decided to give it a day and try again. In the meantime I tried to reach out to the Lego company but the website just kept looping me around and we gave up and went back to the videos again. We tried to attach the two houses together first then the trees. It fell apart again. At this point we just went for it and watched half of the house fall apart as we got the trees attached. Now we are working on piecing the houses back together and it is very frustrating. Overall it is a great concept and amazing set but the execution of piecing it together at the end needs to be reassessed. The instructions just glance over it while there should be a few pages dedicated to this step. Some of the instructions for the upside-down portion were so dark it was hard to tell the difference in pieces so we had to use a flashlight to make sure we were doing it correctly. We love Legos and will of course be buying more sets but I've never been more frustrated when trying to finish a set before. I would highly recommend using the kragle on this set as you go, especially the roof! I have attached some photos of all the pieces that fell off after we attached the trees.

You'll want to make sure you hear a noticeable "click" and use a bit more pressure to attach the trees. Strange Tales From The Upside Down

I would recommend this to a friend!
By far, this was my most difficult build in sheer terms of piece count and difficulty, but also my most worthwhile build to date. As I've seen all 3 seasons so far, this was a set on my wishlist for a while and once I got it, I was happy. The only reason this doesn't get fives across the board was my own personal frustration with losing vital pieces, but thankfully LEGO support came through and I have to give them utter respect for helping me every step of the way I needed replacement pieces. By far the hardest thing for me to do was connecting everything together via support pieces on the front and back ends of the set itself and the tree supports, but once I got those in place, everything else was easy peasy. I had a strange amount of fun building this and would recommend this set to anyone either a fan of the show or looking for a good challenge to test their LEGO building skills. Again, LEGO customer support, thank you for coming through.

I haven't built a lego set in many years and this was so much fun. I'm a huge fan of the show so I instantly bought this, hoping I'd be able to handle the build. It was a long process but it ultimately was totally doable. The set is very stable and I didn't end up with many missing pieces at all. I believe I only had one block that wasn't included in my pack, but it was easily replaced with other extras from previous parts of the build. All in all, I had a great time putting this together and I love having this on display.

I love building this piece, it’s amazing but as soon I connect the houses together and connect it with the Tree - my houses fall apart - the roof won’t connect to it at all ... not sure what I'm doing wrong as I did what the instructions told me to do. It was pretty pricey for this LEGO set and I was disappointed that it didn’t even stay together :( !!! I know I’m not the only on who had this problem I mean I see others stand perfectly great :( maybe I just had a bought a bad batch :/ .. I had to take all of my pieces off and start over :( still don’t think it’ll work
