Although the legs aren't movable/posable, there are lots of cool things about this set. The articulated arms are a nice detail, and add alot of play value. The action feature is also a delight, but the "pincer" things are quite loose and can't really hold anything.Th mechanism for the feature is quite interesting, and could be used in a variety of ways. I feel like they could've added some more armor plating to this set, because the whole model looks quite thin, like the Toa could crush it by steppng on it. It looks quite weak, all in all. But overall the model is quite detailed and strong, and is ready to be played with quite intensely!Play Experience4.0Value for Money4.0Was this helpful?

Lego Skull Scorpio is a set that is considered to be the worst set in the summer 2015 Bionicle set wave. However, I disagree. Even though the legs aren't posable they look more realistic than they would have if they had been made out of CCBS parts. One of the better parts of the model is the tail mask grabber. Despite the fact that a Toa would have to be at very close range to have his/her mask taken, it still is a fantastic Technic function that works well. The scorpio's pincers are rather strange looking because they have three opposable claw bits. The mask is very nice looking and looks skeletal, but it is a shame it is the same as the one on Skull Basher. All in all I think this is a great set and a formidable foe for any ToaPlay Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

Before buying this set, I was a bit reluctant to see how it turned out considering the negative feedback it had already received on this site. I did, however, plan on buying it as an addition to complete the new wave of Bionicles and, after buying and building it, I was pleasantly surprised to see this as a really great Bionicle and Lego set in general. Pros: -Piece count: This set contains quite a lot of pieces compared to its counterparts in this wave which is pretty great to see (especially for this price range :) -The new pieces: Out of all of the new Bionicle pieces introduced in 2015, the skull pieces are definitely my favorites. The rib cage and the bone arms are incredibly fun to play with and look at. Also they give much variety to those lego builders that enjoy making their own creations. -Its overal appearance: Looking at the completed version of this set is very cool. It gives off the feel of and undead scorpion very well and makes it look like an intimidating foe for any Toa. -Functions: Being a fan of the original Bionicle sets, I was looking forward to the old nostalgia of technic functions in a Bionicle set and this Skull Scorpio achieves it very well. The scorpion tail works great and adds so much playability that some of the other sets lack. So the classic feel of techinic functions really give an old fan like myself a great nostalgic feel when playing with and building this set. Cons: -the mask is the same as in the Skull Basher set which is kind of disappointing. -Unfortunately, one other downside to this set is its lack of movable legs. On the other hand, I do not see this set's stagnant legs as that much of an issue (particularly in this set). In any other Bionicle set, immovable legs would be a devastating issue, but the immovable bone-like spider legs add a lot of visual appeal to this set and make it easier to play with. The clear focus of this set is its scorpion tail, which works very well, so it is not fair to punish it for its legs. And in all honestly, six legs with at least three joints in each would be quite annoying to play with and to stand up. Also its arms, pincers, head, neck, and tail joints do add numerous amounts of posability, despite its legs lacking any joints. So, for what it is supposed to be, I would consider this Skull Scorpion a design success and also very fun to play with, especially for young kids.Play Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

First I should say that my 4-year old son picked this set out. Clearly, this set is not meant for such a young person, but the cool factor drew his eye to this product, so we picked it up. He handled the build for the body and arms very well, needing only minor correction. The tail, on the other hand, required much more help from me, and I was happy to assist. What a neat little build with a unique action! I have a lot of fun with it, trying to steal the toa's mask. One of the things that makes this set so fun for my son is that the legs are immovable. I know, advanced builders hate it, but when we're trying to attack heroic warriors to take their masks, it's nice not to be bothered with the legs collapsing during play. I think it was a smart choice for this particular model. There could be something said, however, for the disconnect between the advanced tail and the very simplistic legs - they kind of contradict. Still, once it's all put together it makes for a very enjoyable toy. I'm really digging the translucent orange eyes of the new villains, too!Play Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?
