Is your child our next LEGO® tester?
Hi there, responsible adult! We're working on a new digital LEGO® experience for kids packed with games, digital brick building, social features, characters and challenges! Once it's finished, it'll be a place where kids can share creations, express themselves, connect with other LEGO fans their age - and explore a fun, interactive universe of LEGO play! We're just starting to build it, though, and that's where you come in!
Tell us what you think!
We love testing new experiences because that's how we make sure that what we're building will inspire and delight kids everywhere! That's why we're inviting you to this test, so your child can try out the new LEGO® experience and tell us exactly what they like about it - and even what they don't. As we're still building it, all the features aren't fully available, but there's still a load of fun to explore! We can't wait to hear what you and your child will think about it!
You're in control!
Before your child can have fun in the new LEGO® experience, we need a couple of things from you. We need your email to send you a link to download the app, and as part of our test we'll track your child's use of the app so we can understand what parts of it are most popular. We'll also reach out to you with a short survey after your child has enjoyed the app for a while. This is a research project, so it's a bit different from what we'd usually ask of you, and it's important to us that you understand what's involved.
Our legal basis for handling your information is indicated by your agreement to the Terms of this test. We will retain your basic data for two years. You may withdraw your child from the test at any time, and if you do so, we'll make sure your child can't access the test app anymore.
See the FAQ and Terms of the test below for more details. For full details on how we process your data, you can check out our Privacy Policy
FAQ
How do I sign up?
Once you've given your consent and signed up for the project, you'll receive an email with a link to download Apple TestFlight (the testing platform) and a code to redeem access to the test LEGO® app.
NB: The email will come from Apple TestFlight, not the LEGO Group. You'll need to download the TestFlight app from App Store (see more below).
What are you tracking?
To learn if the new LEGO® experience lives up to our standards for fun, quality, and safety, we'll track the data to learn how your child uses the experience. This includes the way they move around in the game world, which features they use and how they spend their time in the app. We'll also analyse the content they share and upload and how they interact with other users in the experience. We use this info to improve the app and make sure it's fun, inspiring, and easy to use.
What mobile devices can my child use?
The test app can run on Apple devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad) running iOS 13 or later. To check if your device has the right version of iOS, go to Settings → General → Software Version. It should read at least 13.0.
At the moment, the test app only supports iOS devices and won't work on other devices such as Android.
How are you using and storing data?
By signing up to the project, you accept that we can track your child's behaviour in the test app for the duration of the project. The data from this will be processed on our behalf by the supplier of the game engine and platform the test app is based on (Unity Analytics) but not shared with any third parties. We'll hang on to the data for a limited time after the project closes for research and analysis.
How long will the test run?
The project will run for 2-3 months starting April 2022.
What is TestFlight? How do I get it? And how do I log in?
TestFlight is a kind of app store for test apps. It's the service that allows us to make test LEGO® experiences available for LEGO fans like you who want to help us trial new things.
You can download TestFlight in the App Store. TestFlight will automatically log in using your Apple ID or ask you to login if you aren't already. This is where you'll get access the LEGO test app.
How do I redeem my code?
Once you've signed up for the project, you'll receive an email with an access code. You'll need to type this in to TestFlight to install and use the test app. The code is not case sensitive.
I didn't receive a code
It can take a few days for the email to reach you. If you haven't received an email from TestFlight within a couple of days, please check the spam filter on your email provider. Look for an email sent from “TestFlight”
You can also try signing up for the project again.
Do I need to log in?
Your child can use the test app as a guest user but it's more fun if you help your child log into their LEGO® Account or create one for them. This unlocks more features, and your child can save their progress and collect rewards.
