- August 5th, 2021Average rating4out of 5 stars4.0Takes you where you may never be able to go!I would recommend this to a friend!Out of all the Lego sets I have built this was probably my favorite. Not because of the amount of detail put into the set or features but because of most importantly the entire time I was building it, I felt like Lego was taking me to a place I will never get to see in person. Only getting to see it in picture or on tv doesn't do it justice and Lego helps prove it with this set. There are many aspects of the stadium I just didn't know existed until getting to put this set together and getting to read about it in the booklet. Lego has done a great job of making you feel like you are in the crowd cheering on all of the greats from Manchester glory. Now there are also some downsides to this set. First thing is the amount of stickers you have to put on. You would think for this price point that they would make all the pieces printed pieces but instead there are close to 50 stickers. To me that kind of makes the set feel a bit cheap in that you are having to put stickers on it like it is a race car from the Speed Champions series as opposed to the higher quality modular buildings. The other disappointing part of the build was I thought you would get to build the grass field but to my surprise it comes pre made in about 6 pieces. Would have been more enjoyable to make the checkerboard pattern with individual pieces but maybe I am knit picking at this point. Overall this is a great build but do keep in mind it isn't perfect and their are some drawbacks when you pay this kind of money for a set.Play Experience5.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?45Old Trafford - Manchester United
- March 26th, 2021Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0My First Serious BuildFfejumms |I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfThis was a lot of fun. When you spend the kind of money that this costs, you want it to be entertaining and to take some time. It delivered on both. It was challenging but not frustrating and took me a weekend and then some to finish. Overall, very happy with my purchase. The only issue I’m left with is where to put it. (It is quite big) The only complaint I would have is that it was missing two pieces. One that seemed to be of little consequence. The other is a bit conspicuous. Beyond that, I am very happy with my purchase.28 March 2021Phil, Customer ServiceIt's great that you enjoyed the build. And we're all the more sorry that missing parts spoiled some of the fun. - May 2nd, 2020Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0New Hobby.I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfAs a life long sports fan, it’s been a very rough 2020 so far amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This was actually just the 3rd set I’ve built since getting into building LEGO 2 weeks ago, I Started with something easy with the Vegas and Central Perk sets which are awesome. I wanted something more challenging and definitely got that with the Old Trafford set ! The attention to detail is amazing. Very enjoyable build except when it came to the stickers. I managed to “decently” place them on the bricks themselves but I couldn’t get it right on some of them. Overall it’s a truly amazing set. Definitely a display piece. The only regret I have is not getting into this sooner. I missed out on the United Trinity giveaway that came along with this set and would’ve loved to have that with this set. I hope this is just the first of many stadiums LEGO will produce. I’m sure there are more sports fans and fans of LEGO that will love building these unique sets like I have.Play Experience4.0Level of Difficulty4.0Value for Money5.0Build Time: 10 hrsBuilding Experience: Intermediate LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Old Trafford - Manchester United
- March 7th, 2020Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Manchester United Old Trafford Set 10272I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfHi, As a Man Utd fan since the early 90's, Watching there highs and lows over the years, plus visiting the stadium, I know a little about Utd. So when i seen that there was a new set out I just had have to have it, Right lets start with the positives, The Instruction manual has a history about Utd, The development of the stadium over the years, The players and the of course Sir Alex, It is interesting. They have done a good job here, The stadium does easily split into sections which is good for displaying. Then things start to go downhill (bit like utd this season), As i started building the pitch, I noticed that the pitch sidelines dont match up straight, This is a wide spread issue apparently. The goals are too small, There are too many stickers 50+. The actual model itself (In my opinion) is just too small in height, Not sure if it was done to a scale, it just does not look right (again my opinion) Lego and the designers had a great chance here to build a theatre of dreams (pardon the pun). Other sets have functions, playability, They could have included 11 or 22 minifigs?. maybe subs and managers, Total build time 8 - 9hrs over 3 days. The model is a great display piece, and does look good to my other sets. I would recommend, However i did expect a bit more theatre. I am a technic fan, This is my first creator in years. At £250 is it expensive or good value for money.
