For starters the side projects are perfect, the dumpling stand and associated characters are great! The whole set has such a slick and cool look to it. The minifigure with the Hawaiian shirt is amazing, looks much like myself, lol! Now to the big, glorious mech, sure he is a little hard to pick up and move around but jeez who cares it totally rules! As a build it is so much fun watching him come together, you just can't wait to rip open the next bag. I bought this without really thinking about the show, just how amazing this creation is and the LEGO designer attached is one of my faves! If you're thinking about it, just do it, it is such a fun build and looks incredible!Level of Difficulty3.0Value for Money4.0Build Time: 5 hrsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Monkey King Warrior Mech
- July 26th, 2020Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0Don’t play with itGooch |Purchased for: SelfExtremely unstable, can’t change a pose without pieces falling off. Very little holding options. Colorful and fun to build but pose it once and place it in display case. IT IS NOT PLAYABLE.3 August 2020Emily, Customer ServiceThank you for your review! I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble getting your set to stay together. You'll want to take a close look at the pieces added on 9 of book 2 of the instructions. If they're not pressed tightly together, the joints won’t be strong enough to stay together. You want to make sure that you hear a noticeable "click" as shown when you put those parts together. A little rebuilding for each step that uses those parts should solve the problem! - June 7th, 2021Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Very unstable and not playfulI have bought hundreds sets of lego for my son and myself , this is the first time I wrote the review, because it is so not stable and the parts keeps falling here and there when you play it. Even only for display, you have to find a very good pose to let it stand stable otherwise it falls easily even though you don’t touch it. It has very beautiful color but terrible stable design.Play Experience1.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?35Monkey King Warrior Mech
- June 27th, 2021Average rating4out of 5 stars4.0Stellar Display Piece, Mediocre ToyI would recommend this to a friend! This set is pretty darn good. It has a very impressive design with standout colors, many plastic flaps and the cape, and a hefty size and weight. The mini mech for the bulls is good, and has enough playability for the size. The building portion is nice for the size, but I would prefer if it was bigger. The small portion of the mountain is effective, and the same can be said for the cloud portion for the Monkey King. The minifigure selection is fine. None are exclusive, but it is a good selection for what's there. The value is fine to me. Many of the pieces are on the smaller side, but it is also balanced out by the size of the build, all the flags and cape, and the overall amount of stuff here. There is one major issue with the set though, and that is the playability of the Warrior Mech. The model is surprisingly unstable when trying to pose it, even when just moving the leg forward a little bit, which messes up some positions people might want to put it in. There are also some flimsy areas on the build, particularly in the middle and the flags on the back, which can fall off pretty easily. Between the poor stability and the flimsy pieces that appear, it really hurts the overall playability a kid can have with this set. Overall my recommendation depends on whether you prefer to display or play with your sets. If you prefer to play with your sets, it's better to skip this set since the main build has some flimsy areas and poor stability when making some poses. If you prefer to display your sets, I recommend it since it has a stellar design and an eye-catching appearance.Play Experience2.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?45Monkey King Warrior Mech
