Imagination and fun in Design
Imagine watching millions of children play with the sets you’ve created - the joy on their faces and the hopes and dreams in their minds. For our Design team, this is a standard day at work.
“We get to create the LEGO® sets for children and adults to play with and enjoy around the world. It is immensely gratifying to know that we are playing a small part in providing positive and joyful memories for our consumers,” says Fiorella, one of our Design Managers.
Alice and Fiorella are just some of our talented designers, working to create awesome LEGO sets. They’ve worked on some amazing stuff, and are facing some of their biggest and most exciting challenges – to keep creating fun new sets for kids and adults to enjoy. In every set they design, Fiorella and Alice makes sure their teams use the right trends, insights and findings from their research. Then, they work together to make sure every design is as awesome as the last.
They both agreed that the people and teams they work with are what makes their job great. Followed closely by the bricks, of course. Whether they’re working in the office, or from home, they get to learn from some of the most talented people from all over the world. For Alice, when she’s helping to hire new people, she’s looking at how their personalities will help fill the LEGO Group with talented, caring and interesting people.
Imagination
Fiorella believes imagination is crucial to developing strong creative skills. It’s what helps her and her team create the sets we see in the shops and online. She’s inspired by the quote from Carl Sagan, an astronomer:
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we get nowhere.”
Alice, on the other hand, believes having fun in the jobs you do and the sets you create is so important. Sometimes the world can be serious, so finding that perfect balance is important to her.
