As a Senior Concept Artist at The LEGO Group, you will work as part of a team to develop and deliver outstanding experiences influencing how children around the globe learn, grow and develop their creative mind through the power of play.
Any project involving a visual story may require a concept artist, so you can work across different areas of visual media. You will push boundaries to do things differently through collaboration between team members (such as model designers, graphic designers, marketing) and digital initiatives.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate holds a degree in fine art, graphic design, computer art, illustration, animation or a related discipline and has strong English communication skills.
Additionally, has proven experience in concept art and in building digital and physical visuals. For instance, characters and creatures - everyday life and fantasy - as well as environments and worlds. Including indoor, outdoor and imaginary settings, both in quick thumbnails as well as detailed artwork.
As a person, we are looking for an ambitious and proactive teammate to highlight and explore new opportunities and trends.
Furthermore, we expect you to demonstrate:
• Expertise in computer animation tools such as Maya, SketchUp, Painter or Photoshop
• Strong understanding of color theory and color palette creation
• Ability to interpret and communicate new ideas to the Marketing and Design team with strong art direction skills
• Strong insight and consumer understanding, taking trends and inspiration from the latest fashion, styling and pop culture, with implementation into concept development
Moreover, it will be preferable if you have previous experience from the Toy Industry or playful design while targeting a younger audience.
