Training goes above and beyond the business of onboarding for Sabrina—it’s about shaping the culture and future of each and every new colleague who joins us. As an Seasonal Induction Team Leader, she ensures that everyone not only understands their role but feels truly connected to our values and embraces our playful spirit.

“We’re the first faces new employees see”

Sabrina and her team play a crucial role in welcoming new hires into the LEGO Group.

“After all the paperwork is done, we’re the first people new colleagues truly engage with. We set the tone, introduce them to the company’s culture, and ensure they feel supported as they begin their journey. Our goal is simply to make every new joiner feel like they belong from day one.”

For us, induction training is far from ordinary. Instead of dull lectures and manuals, Sabrina ensures that the experience is interactive, engaging, and, most importantly, fun.

“When designing our training programmes, we always ask: how can we make this learner-centric? How can we make it engaging? We incorporate role-playing, gamified learning, and real-world scenarios to make sure our new hires don’t just learn the information but truly experience it.”

A key focus of her training is embedding our core values right from the start.

"It’s about building confidence, not just skills"

“The best training goes beyond systems and processes—it builds confidence. Our job isn’t just to teach the technical aspects of the role; it’s to make sure every new team member feels capable, confident, and ready to provide the best customer experience possible. Part of this involves encouraging empathy and valuing perspective.

“We consistently run modules titled ‘In the Customer’s Shoes'. This helps our advisors understand what it feels like to be on the other side of a call, receiving support. That sense of empathy is critical to delivering a great service.”

“People can come from almost anywhere”

One of Sabrina’s favourite aspects of her role is seeing how people from all walks of life come together here.

“Our CSE team is incredibly diverse. We have employees straight out of school, people with doctorates, career changers, and those from entirely different industries. What matters most isn’t their background—it’s their mindset. We hire for personality and values because skills can be taught, but attitude and passion are what truly make the difference that really matters.

“If you’re flexible and open to change, you’ll thrive here. Our systems, processes, and technologies are constantly evolving, and so is our approach to training.”

A career that started with a leap of faith

Sabrina’s own journey at the LEGO Group began unexpectedly.

“I moved to the UK and needed a job, so I applied to work here. At first, my parents weren’t thrilled—they wondered why I wasn’t using my degree straight away. But I quickly realised there were incredible opportunities here. I started as an advisor, then moved into training, and now I get to do what I love—helping others find their place here.”

"Play is at the heart of everything we do"

Play isn’t just for customers—it’s built into our workplace culture, and Sabrina makes sure it’s reflected in her training sessions.

“Every trainer is a Play Agent, which means we actively bring playfulness into our work. We use icebreakers, creative exercises, and fun challenges to help new employees feel comfortable. Play creates a sense of connection and breaks down barriers.

“When people leave our onboarding programme, I want them to feel excited, empowered, and ready to bring our values to life. It’s not just about teaching—it’s about inspiring.”
