Job Description

Have you always wanted to be part of how we create our LEGO® models and is excited about 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software? As part of our Product Development Technology organization, you will work as a Software Engineer on the LEGO® Digital Element Design team. You will be working at the very heart of the LEGO Group, and very close to your user: our LEGO® designers. The team provides a set of digital tools for the development of 3D elements, as well as cloud services and APIs to transform and allow access to the LEGO® Brick database. The output of your work will be used by every single LEGO® Experience, going through manufacturing, digital art for branding, games and more!

Core Responsibilities

•Design, develop, optimize, and maintain Autodesk Maya Plugins and related ecosystem of software components

• Ensure a high level of quality and performance in the developed code architecture and features, with an emphasis on long term viability and superior user experience

•Work agile in a multi-functional product team, collaborating across a full value-chain of software products

•Advocate ways of working and good practices in documentation, including decision records and technical designs

•Participate in internal support rotation and operations for all the domain areas of the team

• Engage with multiple teams outside of your organization, to leverage the engineering community capabilities

This is a phenomenal opportunity to join a team of experts in both 3D CAD and Cloud Services, within a core area for the LEGO Group design process. You will bring your expertise in the 3D space, and we expect you to explore emerging technologies and methods, challenge the status quo and raise the bar on engineering best practices.

Do you have what it takes?

•Demonstrated experience in developing tools on the 3D CAD space

• Interest in learning and supporting cloud-based services and APIs • Solid understanding of common development best practices (e.g. CI/CD, Git, Agile)

• Experience in designing and creating systems and tools, solving both business and technical challenges

•Capable of understanding a complex business domain and designing for the big picture

• Strong written & verbal communication skills (English)

In addition, we hope that you also have:

• Experience with API design either as RESTful services or using GraphQL

• Experience with Cloud solutions

• Familiar with Domain Driven Design and passion in resolving domain problems

•A creative thinker who can analyze a problem, and see multiple solutions

• Experience with relevant 3D object creation tooling such as Rhino, ZBrush, Blender, 3ds Max or  Maya
