Together with our Near- and Off-Shore partners, OMP deploys technology to enable the LEGO Group within the areas of Demand & Supply Technology, Manufacturing Technology & Product Engineering Technology.

Core Responsibilities

As our new Principal Engineer, you coach and set direction for teams that deliver digital products and services, consumed by business colleagues globally within Operations.

You will be a key person for building digital capabilities and products, within Supply & Demand Technologies or Manufacturing Technologies.

We strive to work in agile, autonomous, empowered teams that keep products at the heart of our organization. We focus on minimal viable products to reduce the time from "good idea to business value delivered"!

Act as the day-to-day coach for the product teams, ensuring focus and progress towards desired outcomes.

  • Set direction for Design, build and/or configure end-to-end applications through close collaboration with other Principal Engineers

  • Engineer products to the highest standards of security and data privacy by evangelizing the LEGO Group security and data privacy principles from ideation to production release and beyond.

  • Orchestrate that products are engineered to implement business logic, modern design patterns and architectural principles

  • Ensure that products are engineered to follow the highest coding standards e.g., documentation and efficiency

  • Coach engineers to build efficient and optimal solutions by challenging ideas/opinions

  • Direct technology choices in collaboration with Heads-of-Product

In OMP, you will join with approximately 250 dedicated LEGO® colleagues globally. We deliver end-to-end services and digital solutions to enable efficient and excellent business processes.

As part of the team, you contribute significantly to setting direction and develop the global OMP Technologies organization to meet current and future challenges.

Do you have what it takes?

You will probably bring an academic degree in IT/Computer Science or Business/Supply Chain Management. Further you have hands-on experience with software development and/or configuration as well as Domain Driven Design principles.

You build trust through open dialogue and by delivering results - on all levels of the organization.

Must haves:

  • Supreme, documented understanding of technology and agile methodologies is a prerequisite as well as a servant leadership style where the team is in focus

  • You are comfortable in engaging with senior leaders on a corporate level.

  • Demonstrable experience as Lead or Principal engineer in a global context

  • Experience with leading agile technology development teams or organizations

  • Preferably experience from a Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods company with global brand and reach

  • Good communicator that can bridge strategic vision with tactical direction and operational planning for a large global organization

Proficiency in English, written and oral, is required.

This position can be based in Billund or Copenhagen. As our team spans globally, you should expect 20-30 travelling days per year.
