Bring you excellent collaboration, communication and leadership skills to the table and be part of leading our data governance practices to the next level!

Core Responsibilities

We're looking for an awesome colleague to head up the newly founded "Data Governance" team. As part of this role, you will:

• Build, grow and lead your team and be part of the Data Office leadership team
• Access the current situation and define, implement and communicate a data governance framework and incorporate best-practice processes throughout all stages of the data lifecycle (i.e. capture, storage, processing, sharing, usage, deletion)
• Design and implement a data classification policy, with appropriate use of automated tools
• Ensure appropriate documentation and cataloguing of data quality, lineage and metadata
• Promote collaborative working between data producers and data consumers across the LEGO Group
• Engage with our Legal and Data Protection teams as appropriate

Location for this role is Billund, Denmark, but for the right candidate we might be open to hire someone living in the UK with some travel to Denmark post COVID.

Play your part in our team succeeding

The role of the Data Office is to drive value from data across the LEGO Group. Our team builds and runs our central Data Platform, and is a center of excellence for data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

In addition, the Data Office is the hub of a community of data practitioners. We promote data literacy, ethics and good governance, and are ambassadors for the responsible use of data to drive growth.

We have a strong ambition to become a truly data-driven company so this role offers a lot of opportunity to bring impact, influence and set a strategic direction. Your team currently consists of 1 individual but you will be responsible for growing and building up the team.

Joining our LEGO® family means you're part of something big and meaningful. Work life balance and flexibility are part of our culture that is centred around great collaboration, flat hierarchies, and having fun at work.

Do you have what it takes?

As a person, your peers recognize you as an outstanding communicator and collaborator who easily connects and builds trusting relations with people across the organization. You understand how to lead and bring people on board with your vision, not by controlling or commanding data governance frameworks but by collaborating and helping our business to scale up fast in a responsible way.

We imagine you have a background within Business Intelligence, Analytics or Machine Learning, combined with leadership and strategic experience. You have deep knowledge of data protection regulations across a number or international markets and you have a proactive and collaborative work approach. Finally, as you will be working with a lot of cool people across that come from various background, we would love that you can discuss and translate technical topics in non-technical ways.
